World War Z is coming back…kind of. It’s largely the same game, but it’s headed to a new platform (Nintendo Switch) with the Deluxe Edition that will contain all the content previously released on PS4 and XBox One. So finally, Switch can stand equally with its contemporaries, right?

It’s been a while since we brought up the World War Z video game, released for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC in the spring of 2019. It’s back in the news because…they finally figured out how to get it running on Switch.
Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive have released the “Marseille” PvE episode for WORLD WAR Z, the best-selling co-op shooter inspired by Paramount Pictures’ blockbuster film. The episode features four new characters taking on three original storyline missions in a new setting in France.
Launched last April, World War Z (based on the movie) is predominantly a multiplayer experience. You can play the main four-player co-op, utiilzing six distinct classes and tons of weapons and traps in locations set around the world, from New York to Moscow. Or you can try out Players Vs. Players Vs. Zombies, sending you against the undead and other players in any of the five modes:: Scavenge Raid, Vaccine Hunt, Swarm Deathmatch, Swarm Domination or King of the Hill.
There will be more than one free season of DLC content added to World War Z, Saber Interactive announced today.
Last month Saber Interactive unveiled their content roadmap for World War Z. Over the next few months free updates will be added to the game, and the first of these went live today: “The Undead Sea,” a new mission set in Tokyo.

We are now T minus 19 days from the release of Saber Interactive’s World War Z. In these final weeks, Saber is revealing more about the game’s content. At launch, four episodes spanning eleven levels will be available, and one of these episodes, “Stories In Tokyo,” is the focus of the latest trailer.

We’ve got a date for World War Z! Saber Interactive’s zombie-bashing action game, based on the 2013 feature film, will be in gamers’ hands and spinning in their consoles April 16. Why a World War Z game now, instead of five or six years ago? You’d have to ask Saber. Mainly, it’s an excuse to pack the screen with moaning undead.
