LionWing Publishing has translated quite a few Japanese TTRPGs, but today’s subject, Eldritch Escape: Tokyo, marks a milestone for the company…it will be the first tabletop game to be simultaneously released in both Japan and America at the same time, in both Japanese and English respectively. We spoke with Lucy Qui and J Mill of BCAD about their game, the Emotional Intelligence Board Game (EIBG). Emotional Intelligence Board Game is a connection game for 2-6 players that emphasizes storytelling, improvisation, and authenticity. EIBG uses a resource acquisition component based on the six social archetypes: Intuitor, Connector, Conjurer, Enhancer, Manipulator, and Specialist. Each of these social archetypes is associated with a color and has a different game style to play as. The archetype the player chooses comes with a power card that players can use on other players in each round. A manipulator, for example, can use the Exaggerate card on other players for each round.
On the occasion of International Talk Like A Pirate Day, Free League has released PIRATE BORG, their nautical spinoff of the gritty artpunk RPG MORK BORG. Several expansions have been created for MORK BORG, but this is the first third-party expansion created by someone else with Free League’s blessing. PIRATE BORG takes the world of MORK BORG and enhances it for the high seas.
