Hi-Death Comes Into Focus This June
Last year Nightfall Pictures put together “Hi-8,” an anthology movie of horrific shorts. They are now following it up with a second anthology that has a considerably more pun-tastic name: “Hi-Death.” The framing device is that two young women are touring Hollywood and naively sign up for something called the “Terror Tour.” They then learn all about five horrifying events that took place in Tinseltown: Their first stop proves that “Death Has a Conscience”, but doesn’t spare the unlucky souls who stumble into his path. Next, a meeting with the “Dealers of Death” exposes the perils of collecting murder memorabilia. Then, it’s off to a quick “Night Drop”, where your next movie rental may be your last. An actress’ worst nightmare unfolds as she is forced to perform a terrifying “Cold Read”, and our Terror Tour comes to a disturbing end as we meet the ancient, seductive evil known as “The Muse”. Hi-Death stars Fabiana Formica, Jay Sosnicki, Todd Martin, Thomas Kindler, Jensen Jacobs, Craig Kelly, Nick Randol, Dilynn Fawn
2050 Opens In Theaters This Friday
Indie distributor Anerke has acquired the sci-fi fantasy 2050, starring former Superman Dean Cain, and will begin showing it in theaters around the country beginning in March. 10 screening locations are planned. It’s the future, and a video game developer feels unsatisfied in his marriage, but too morally conscious to cheat on her. So he commits the gray area the future allows: he sleeps with a custom-built robot! It would have been a perfect plan….if his wife hadn’t discovered it, and if the man hadn’t started actually developing feelings for the silicon maiden. 2050 will make its debut in selected theaters around the country starting next month. Here are the cities and showings that have been announced so far: March 1-7: LA AMC March 15-21: Baltimore AMC March 29-April 4: Nashville AMC April 12-18: Houston AMC In addition to Cain, 2050 stars David Vaughn, Irina Abraham, Devin Fuller, Stefanie Bloom, Stormi Maya, Jace Nicole, Shannone Holt, and Hope Blackstock. Unlike most indie releases of this type, 2050 will not be
Final Fantasy X, X-2, XII Preorders Open On Switch And XBox
Square announced today their upcoming re-releases of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and Final Fantasy X / X-2: HD Remaster, this time coming to Nintendo Switch and XBox One, are open for preorder. Final Fantasy X / X-2 is the same remaster that debuted on the PS3, only with slightly better performance due to being on more powerful hardware. Final Fantasy XII is new to HD this generation, and has a number of improvements over its original release, including these: License Reset Function: By talking to Clan Centurio’s leader Montblanc in Rabanastre, players can reset and change their party member’s jobs, allowing them to customize the jobs of their party as desired. Additional Gambit Sets: Gambits allow players to customize their party’s AI. Players can now create three unique sets, allowing players to switch between sets for different situations, such as map exploration or boss fights. Improved “New Game+”: Allows users to start the game with party members at level 90 and carry over some items like weapons, magic
Gremlins Animated Series In Development
Gremlins are great, and there aren’t enough minutes of screentime devoted to them. Every now and then we hear about a Gremlins 3 movie in development, but it never goes anywhere. Which is why we’re thrilled with the announcement from Variety that Warner Bros is developing a Gremlins TV series. We’ll take it! The downside is that we won’t get to find out what Billy and Kate are up to because the proposed series is a prequel. It would be about the young adventures of Mr. Wing, Gizmo’s original caretaker, as he travels with his companion Mogwai around the world. The second downside is that this series is meant for WarnerMedia, the upcoming exclusive streaming service for WB properties (they’re also considering yanking Friends from Netflix and putting it on this). We have mixed feelings about every single major studio and corporation launching their own streaming service. On the one hand, no mortal human can possibly keep up with them all, and no human earning less than six figures can
Arcade Version Of Ice Climber Rereleased On Switch
For the first time since its original release in the 80s, the arcade version of Ice Climber (more commonly known on the NES) is available for purchase, thanks to Hamster and their “Arcade Archives” series. I’ll bet you didn’t even know there WAS an arcade version of Ice Climber. There are actually arcade versions of over two dozen NES games, thanks to Nintendo’s interchangeable “Vs” arcade machine. Before some NES games were released in the US, Nintendo would sometimes “preview” them in the arcades with a modified version. Vs. Ice Climber came out in March of 1985, six months before the cartridge was first sold in New York. Most Vs. games were visually identical to their home console counterparts, but contained extra modes and features that wouldn’t be possible on the NES hardware. In the Vs. version of Ice Climber, the player has to deal with additional elements like blizzards and wind, more enemies onscreen, plus 16 additional levels not included in the cart. But If it’s truly unaltered from
Wynonna Earp Season 4 Delayed For Weird Reason
Season 3 of Wynonna Earp ended on a cliffhanger, and unfortunately, we may have to wait longer to find out what happens next. Season 4 has been delayed. The whole mess went public when actress Melanie Scrofano, who plays the title character, innocently tweeted out “Uh, shouldn’t the fourth season have started filming by now? Normally this is when we start.” With the insular way Hollywood works, not everyone is kept in the loop on such things, including people you’d think would be. Then series showrunner Emily Andras responded with these words, which freaked the fanbase OUT and spawned the trending hashtag #FightForWynonna. Sources in connection with the series were forced to go public with the truth, and we learned something about the inner workings of Wynonna Earp no one was aware of before: SyFy doesn’t produce the show. Despite their name being slapped on it, the series is actually financed by IDW Entertainment — the book publisher that printed the original comic book the show is based on. In
Space Jam 2 Set For July 16, 2021
It’s been a while since a group of cartoon animals had to play a basketball game to dodge being sold into slavery by a gang of multicolored aliens, but history is about to repeat itself. Space Jam 2 has officially been announced — the sequel a certain crowd of Millennials has been demanding, and an equally vocal crowd of everyone else has been booing the idea of. Whether or not you think a Space Jam 2 is a good idea, WB has been trying to get it off the ground ever since the first one came out. And it wasn’t always basketball that the Tune Squad was going to reunite for. Names like Jackie Chan and Tony Hawk were floated around (to give you an idea of how long it’s been). More recently the focus has shifted back to a b-ball rematch, with LeBron James as the guy Bugs shoves down a hole into Toon World. We’re told this casting idea has stuck, and that WB now feels confident enough
Ring Of Elysium Patched With Weapon Improvements
Tencent is the Chinese industrial giant who holds the rights to PUBG in their region, among many other things. That hasn’t stopped them from pursuing their own take on the battle royale genre. Ring of Elysium, developed by Aurora Studios, was the result. Ring of Elysium launched in September of 2018 on Steam as a freemium title, and it’s now in its second season of content. Aurora is committed to keeping the game running and just released the latest patch, fixing several bugs, improving the performance of the graphics and optimizing the available weapons. Following the successful launch of a new set of security measures, Aurora Studios has set focus on several bug fixes in the latest patch including many quality of life improvements for players such as fixes to scope functionality, audio on third-party gunshots and improvements to the rendering of building textures and helicopter evacuation points. In addition to bug fixes, the developers have implemented optimization improvements to the game’s memory usage, snowboards, and BMX bikes. Along with
Anthem Day One Patch Notes
Anthem launches in a matter of hours! EA’s most ambitious title of the year and Bioware’s next big franchise (that’s the hope anyway) goes live for all players February 22, after a somewhat tumultuous series of beta tests. Bioware wants everyone to know they’ve been working on resolving the issues that came up during those tests, and the game will be patched the second of launch to deal with them. Long load times were an issue raised in every review. For an MMO, Anthem is rather story-heavy, and having to wait for everyone to finish loading a cutscene was a drag. In addition, something as simple as changing one’s armor turned into a tedious chore (one reviewer clocked the task at four minutes total). Bioware says the load times should be greatly reduced. We’ll see. In addition a number of bug fixes will be applied and some of the Javelin abilities will be tweaked. It’s a 6 GB patch so depending on your connection, you might need to make a
Skullgirls Coming To Switch & XBox One
Skullgirls was one of the finest indie fighters to be produced during the previous console generation. Stylishly hand-drawn characters battled each other in 2-D, hand-animated splendor. It was as fun to look at as it was to play. So why let it languish on the PS3? Lab Zero Games has no intention of letting that happen, fortunately, and is porting Skullgirls to our modern machines. The PS4 already received a version of the game — Switch and XBox One will soon follow suit. This is the “2nd Encore” version that contains all the DLC and extra content in one package. The XBox is just getting Skullgirls digitally, but the Switch will have a physical edition alongside the eShop variant. It won’t be sold in stores, nor is it one of those Limited Run Games deals — Lab Zero arranged a deal with Skybound Games to sell a predetermined number of copies through their website. How many are produced depends on how many are ordered, but there is an upper limit.
Stranger: Award-Winning Crime and Legal Korean Drama Series
Stranger is an award-winning crime and legal Korean drama series. There are two seasons ~ Season 1, released in 2017; and Season 2, released in 2020 ~ both seasons currently streaming on Netflix. The English title is “Stranger”; the literal title is “Secret Forest”. Both titles are sort of confusing to me. Not sure why the series wasn’t named “Unconquerable Prosecutor”. Prosecutor Hwang Si-mok is unbeatable! ♦ What Are His True Intentions? Prosecutor Hwang Si-mok had brain surgery as a child and as a result of the surgery, he can not feel empathy. His colleagues and superiors find him hard to read and figure out his true intentions because his face is usually expressionless. One might think he was ambitious and out to make a name for himself. But ambition has nothing to do with it. When he is assigned a case, he objectively investigates, gathers evidence, methodically solves the crime, and brings the criminals to justice. Isn’t that what a prosecutor is supposed to do? Perhaps his colleagues didn’t
Iñaki Godoy’s Unforgettable Meeting with Eiichiro Oda
Iñaki Godoy gets to do something many One Piece fans wanted to do. It is the master pirate himself. When Iñaki Godoy was first revealed to play Monkey D. Luffy in the live-action adaptation of One Piece, there were some people who reacted strongly to the news of the Mexican actor getting the role. This reaction stemmed from the assumption that Luffy should be portrayed by an Asian actor. However, it’s important to note that Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, clarified back in 2018 that Luffy’s nationality is not Japanese, but Brazilian. Both Mexico and Brazil have Native American and Meztizo descent people. While there is a mild resemblance between Brazilian and Mexican cultures, they are distinct nationalities with their own unique backgrounds. It’s worth mentioning that Iñaki Godoy was handpicked by Eiichiro Oda himself, the writer of One Piece, to bring the character to life on-screen. This decision reflects Oda’s vision and artistic direction for the live-action adaptation. Iñaki Godoy meets Oda Netflix provided
