CBS Ghosts vs BBC Ghosts, Which version is better?
CBS Ghosts got hostile reviews for the first trailer from the UK Fans. The reason is that it’s a remake of a beloved British comedy from BBC. They think the remake was unnecessary because the original is already available for Americans to watch in HBO Max. The BBC Original is also still ongoing with the 4th season coming. The UK fans expected it to bomb because they claim it to be an inferior version of the original.
CBS Ghost became a hit and it is renewed for a second Season!

I watched both versions and I cannot declare which version is better because I have a good time watching both. The American version only copied premises of three episodes of the UK Version. The Pilot, the second episode, and the Episode about the Scout Master ghost. After that The US version becomes its own entity with a different direction. This gave me the chance two enjoy two shows with similar premises but distinct stories.
If the Colombian Drama, Yo Soy Betty La Fea (Ugly Betty) can have dozens of remakes around the world, Ghosts have the potential to become a global franchise too.
The Premise of the original BBC version is about a couple named Alison and Mike who inherited a house that became a living ground for a group of ghosts. After having a Near-death experience, Alison’s 3rd eye opens and she gets to see the ghosts. She tried to make a compromise with the ghosts which include her ancestor, to coexist together and hilarity ensues.
The CBS remake has the same premise with a couple named Sam and Jay but the difference is the house in the CBS version is fans have an idea of what the couple does in the living. Sam is a freelance writer and Jay is a chef. The ghosts have more backstories in the UK version while the US version fleshed out the couple. A season of the UK version only has 6 episodes each while the first season of the US version is already longer than the UK one.
This may be no surprise to anyone who watches and loves #GhostsCBS, but we still found a way to surprise the cast with this good news— Ghosts is officially renewed for Season 2! pic.twitter.com/8enZVIcp8I

Both versions are charming in their individual way despite sharing a premise they become two separate stories.

Fan of the British Version since it begun in BBC but I also loved the American version. They became 2 different shows after 3 episodes so they gave me different experiences. Would like to see a crossover between 2 versions.

Hope Season 2 wont be airing near any Olympics or sports events. I am pissed when Ghost CBS took a break in the middle of the Season to give space with March madness. Its why I mostly avoid Network Television. Forcing sports events for everyone.

We will finally know what happened to Trevor’s pants this coming episode tomorrow!

So he lost his pants differently from Julian. He lost it out of kindness to a Frat Pledge who is going through hazing.

I’m American. But I prefer British TV shows and movies. So if you say folks in the UK gave the trailer for the American show negative reviews, I would probably side with them. I have always liked the British programs much better than their American “twin”.

The American remake is such a huge hit that Season 2 will have 23 episodes! CBS finds their cash cow!

Having watched both the British and American versions of this show, I LOVE the American version. I think the characters are more developed, funnier, and more relatable. The majority of the BBC ghosts seem to blend together as old-timey British aristocrats, and there are too many of them to care about their individual personalities. The CBS version has a more diverse group of ghosts, whom are more memorable and unique from one another. I find CBS’s main (alive) characters, Sam and Jay to be heartwarming, hilarious characters. I do not find BBC’s Allison and Mike funny at all. The scenes and production quality of the CBS show are far superior… and its actors are much nicer to look at. While my opinion may be lightly skewed, as I am an American myself, I do love British TV….But in this case, I feel it falls flat compared to the American remake. I find every episode of the CBS series absolutely hilarious, while I am often bored watching its BBC counterpart.

I do not want to spoil anyone but one of ghosts in the BBC version got sucked off already. Yup one of the British ghosts retires from the show. I also like the American remake too because British humor is more on the dry humor type which is hard to land for other cultures. The Ghosts in the American version are indeed more developed. I know more things about Flower than her British equivalent Kitty and Mary who are like two characters.

What ever happened to Crash, the Headless ghost in the US version? His British equivalent got more face time and character development. He only got utilized for one episode.

Thanks to the American version, I discovered another use for the washing machine aside from washing clothes. I also learned about the Pineapples.🥴😸

UK pantsless is a corrupt politician who died cheating on his wife. UK Pantless is a handsome Wallstreet broker who died trying to save someone from hazing before he died of drugs. That alone made me love the US more. I wish the US version though got the poet too.
