Indie distributor Anerke has acquired the sci-fi fantasy 2050, starring former Superman Dean Cain, and will begin showing it in theaters around the country beginning in March. 10 screening locations are planned.
It’s the future, and a video game developer feels unsatisfied in his marriage, but too morally conscious to cheat on her. So he commits the gray area the future allows: he sleeps with a custom-built robot! It would have been a perfect plan….if his wife hadn’t discovered it, and if the man hadn’t started actually developing feelings for the silicon maiden.
2050 will make its debut in selected theaters around the country starting next month. Here are the cities and showings that have been announced so far:
March 1-7: LA AMC
March 15-21: Baltimore AMC
March 29-April 4: Nashville AMC
April 12-18: Houston AMC
In addition to Cain, 2050 stars David Vaughn, Irina Abraham, Devin Fuller, Stefanie Bloom, Stormi Maya, Jace Nicole, Shannone Holt, and Hope Blackstock. Unlike most indie releases of this type, 2050 will not be getting a simultaneous VOD release, so for now, these sparse theater openings are the only places you can see it.
