Besides, wasn't the fight footage from Decade and not Shinkenger?

If I recall correctly, one ep was Decade and the other was Shinkenger. That's how crossovers between shows are usually done, in order to make people watch both shows that are crossing over.

That's actually not how they did it. The entire arc was conducted in two eps of Decade. In Shinkenger, the episodes that aired alongside the Decade crossover had some little scenes that set up the Decade arc, but otherwise were just standard episodes of Shinkenger. There is one episode where you can spot Tsukasa "hiding" among the kuroko during the roll call and another where I think you see Daiki steal the Ika Origami.

even then wasn't one of the Shinkenger episode postponed for golf or something? There was the Shinken episode with Tsukasa and Narutaki and stuff and then the the Decade episode and the following week there was only the Decade ep?

I must just be so used to them doing it that way that I figured they did. I could have sworn that I watched both episodes of it on the same day, though. But I suppose that would have messed with Decade's two-episode-per-world arcs, wouldn't it.

That's how the story-line of the crossover occurs. The bulk of it occurs in the Decade side, but the Shinkenger in between has Decade cameos (and continues the story somewhat... like Genta running off right after the origami fight to chase Daiki.)
