Seeing the pics of the new Eternal movie, maybe we'll see how a good guy can be a bad guy. Can't say much about this since I was excited.

Since the movie is supposed to explore Daido Katsumi's past, it might be that he started as a good person, but then got corrupted by power...

He must have changed rather quick. I would expect a trauma that is much more powerful than the one Kiba Yuji faced and a quicker and perhaps much sloppier change with Daido.

Agreed... I remember Maria lamenting that Daido used to be like Raito/Philip... That there is good in him... Her child.

Would Maria reminisce about a past in which Daido was a villain who planned to take the world's power? This is something used in most stories in which the parent lets the child live as he wants just because he or she does not want to kill him. The parent cleans the mess, but the parent does not prevent it. The way I saw it, he may have become a monster, but he became a monster long before his transformation to Eternal. His malice seemed much deeper rooted than Sonozaki's malice.

I get the impression that becoming a NEVER is eventually what eroded whatever morality Daido once possessed. So if Eternal was ever regarded by anyone as a hero, it would've had to have been very shortly after his resurrection. A to Z left me with the impression that he was progressively getting less stable over time.

What...? Double is clearly in those pictures and so is Philip.
