In a post today on Battle.net, Blizzard Entertainment announced that the company is changing the longstanding name of its website, Battle.net, to something new. There will apparently be a transition away from Battle.net at some point.
This week at BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment announced the details of the 2.4 patch for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. The update will feature a New Zone for the game with Greyhollow Island. There will also be new items, features and quality of life changes with the new download patch. Here’s a preview of some of the new features for the update. Activision and Blizzard Entertainment officially announced that Blizzard’s upcoming new team-based, first-person shooter video game, Overwatch, will in fact receive a release on current-gen systems. The announcement was made this week during BlizzCon. Overwatch will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC in spring 2016. The game is now available for pre-order, and Blizzard has also confirmed the details for an Overwatch Collector’s Edition. Players who pre-order the game will receive the Noire skin for the ice-cold assassin, Noire, at launch.
Blizzard Entertainment recently launched a website for an officially unannounced Diablo 3 project. The site features only a dark image of an open door and the following text in the iconic Diablo font: “Death, at last, shall spread its wings over all.”
Blizzard Entertainment announced today that the closed beta test for Diablo® III, its highly anticipated sequel to the best-selling Diablo action role-playing game series, has begun. The company has started issuing the first wave of invitations to participate in the testing process and is planning to add more participants over the course of the beta test. While enjoying an early look at the game, beta testers will provide valuable feedback as they help Blizzard Entertainment test server stability and hardware.(more…)
