We never thought we’d say this, but it seems a bit late for the Black Friday circulars to JUST NOW be coming out. In previous years these sheets have leaked before Halloween hit. The reason is, Black Friday itself is late as well — Thanksgiving doesn’t occur until the 28th this year. Here’s what everyone’s offering…
Halloween’s over, and the holiday shopping season has officially begun….thus Popgeeks begins its annual tradition of reporting the best Black Friday video game deals. Unfortunately, this year’s overview will be a slightly shorter one, as we are down one option (Toys R Us).
This year’s Black Friday video game sales from Target, console-wise, are similar to what we saw offered from Best Buy yesterday. This is typical — most retailers will cut the prices of big-ticket items comparatively close to one another. Let’s see what we can get.
Target has released its Black Friday ad, and here are the video game related deals you can find at the shop, provided you can get to them. It’s worth noting Target’s sale begins at 6 PM the previous day — which would normally be Thanksgiving dinner for most people, except the retail workers of Target who have no choice. The CEO of Target will be eating at the normal time.
If there was a lesson to be learned in 2014 besides “don’t store private company information on public servers with zero security” (this will never be learned, by the way)….it’s “if you buy a game console from the store, and it’s been previously opened, for the love of Pete CHECK INSIDE before you leave.” In two separate incidents last month, mere days apart, two people wound up with something other than the PS4 promised on the box.
As of this week, the Australian versions of Target and K-Mart have pulled all copies of Grand Theft Auto V from their store shelves. Why would such a thing happen? Well, the image above might give you an idea. On the left is Barbie, in the middle is a pig plush and on the right is GTA V.
If you own a suit of armor, have a black belt in martial arts, or just don’t care about desecrating a sacred American tradition with pure greed, the barbaric annual event known as Black Friday may be for you. Advertisements and circulars from all the major big boxes are just beginning to be purposely leaked, and here are a few of the newly-announced deals you can look forward to seeing in the video game department…..
