Kamen Rider Decade - Talk UP!

The more I think about it, this is a pretty dark ending- most of the main characters that we've met throughout the series (namely the AU Riders & Yuusuke) are dead or severely compromised. Tsukasa has been duped and is in deep trouble, while Kaitou has seemingly screwed him over again by shooting him in the face. Shoddy cliffhanger or not, it's easily one of the more daring Kamen Rider endings we've had in sometime, and I think that Toei's gonna pull through. Yeah, the wait sucks, but if we get bored, we can always sell FUBU.

Now, my thoughts:

Number one, Decade's story started way before episode one, and I think this will be explained in December's movie. Not only was there that telling conversation between the "original" Wataru (I'll get to that in a minute) and Tsukasa in the first episode, but there was also a throwaway line of "Where are your belt and cards?", meaning that this Wataru knew of Decade before stuff started going down.

But, here's the kicker.

The worlds were probably splitting off long before Decade's story started- case in point, "original" Wataru's attitude during all of this. If this was really the Heisei version of Wataru, would he honestly be acting like that? I think we've seen that the original worlds DO exist even during all of the splintering... and the trip to Shinkenger's world proves it because all of that happened during the course of events in Shinkenger's main run as well. Is their world on the verge of destruction due to Decade? Possibly... but the fact that it doesn't get wiped out of existence during the finale or during an episode of Shinkenger means that the original ones are still out there; Tsukasa and co. just got lucky by being able to travel to one.

So, we've got alternate evil Riders already in play (again, back to the original conversation- "destroy the Kamen Riders?" That's not Wataru. Kazama wearing all black and trying to get Decade to get killed or leave? That ain't right.) dealing with an alternate Tsukasa right during episode one- again, back to the belt and cards thing; this version of Wataru knows that it exists before this Tsukasa does, and as we've seen, there is another Tsukasa running around somewhere... so already our hero is an alternate version of the real, actual thing.

Fun, yet confusing times.

So, Decade's story becomes one of atonement for something that someone like Tsukasa could have the power to do. He does the exact opposite of what these alternate, evil versions of the Heisei Riders think he could do- he brings the OTHER alternate Kamen Riders together somehow... and that's what threatens their existence- the fact that this version of Decade has rounded up his own group of Riders that could possibly take them all out.

Unfortunately for Decade, he hasn't found the REAL ones yet.

And when he does... well, I think that's what the movie in December is actually about.

And as far as that movie is concerned, I don't think it's a Double/Decade movie... I think it's a Double/Decade doubleheader. Yeah, they'll be together for the roadshow, but they'll have two separate movies... reason being is that I still think All Riders vs. Daishocker is the finale due to the appearance of, well... All Riders.

Oh, and another reason why I think these Heisei Riders are bad? The Rider War is just like the 10 Showa Riders training complete with the same blue and red lasers... we know the Triple Riders and everyone else wouldn't openly beat the **** out of each other and gang up and try to kill X-Rider, right?

These Heisei dudes? Not so much.

All in all, I'm not ready to throw the series under the bus for the simple fact that the story isn't over. We know it isn't over. Luckily enough, the cliffhanger will be resolved. Will everyone like it? No. Will all questions be answered? Hell no. But I think it's just best to enjoy what we can, because it could be much, much worse.

Disney could buy the rights and Zac Efron could be the lead in "Masked Rider: Worlds Beyond These".

Makes a hell of a better cliff-hanger if we don't see what happens. If it was a different card to help Tsukasa, okay, but how does he survive if Kaitou was against him.

When it comes to fighting Tsukasa is clearly a crapdillion times more powerful than Kaitou, who just runs the hell away whenever a fight starts to go even slightly against him. Even his ability to summon other Riders for help usually amounts to stalling for time or a distraction.

If Tsukasa had some way to make Kaitou stand still for a few seconds, it seems to me he could annihilate him in a fight. Of course, what actually makes Kaitou interesting as a character is that he's a con man at heart and really a bit too clever to end up in that situation.

If this was really the Heisei version of Wataru, would he honestly be acting like that?

Did everyone forget Wataru's little stint as king? Kenzaki's attitude might have been weird, although who knows what would happen to his personality after some time as an Undead, but Wataru already used a similar front in the past.

I just realized something. The rider war at the begining WAS the ending. They just threw that cliffhanger ending in there because they are running out of mone- I mean ideas.

If they were running out of money (and even ideas) they wouldn't have been able to make a movie.
