Oy, this thread just got really bad. Now the poor girl's gotta be put on the spot while some people tell all of us how "unqualified" she is. You all are taking this stuff way too seriously. Just chill out...is her wedding saved yet? Why don't we focus on that instead if we want to think about her?

The wedding has indeed been saved. I posted a full explanation of the situation in the thread for it since some people felt the need to call it and us into question.

I agree that I don't like this thread here. This forces a set-up on ME to be possible attacked and of course lists miles long of how i'm "unqualified". It hurts, yanno? I'd just rather Keith talk to me privately about it, if he really thought I should be one. No open should suggest me for one. However I do appreciate the sentiment that some people feel that they could trust me with a big job.

I've always been curious though, what it means when some members have a colored and italized text. I realize mods have bold colors and the HJU badge, I was just always curious.

My text just means I participate in one of the more private forums. My participation there is just for organizing things and talking it out with the mods.

Here's the bottom line... a thread like this is only, "Hey, I like and trust this person!"

The ONLY way someone becomes a mod is if I know them well enough that i can trust them and they want to do the job. Being a Mod does not make you cooler. For me, the coolest are the regular posters that actually make this place fun to come to and encourage conversation.

No thread, pressure or suggestion will push me into making someone staff unless I feel they're up for the job.

So, it's alright of FR thinks FQ kicks ass. I make mods based on necessity and watching someone's track record on the board. NOT POPULARITY. If they prove themselves to be stable, trust worth and responsible then they'll most likely get the job.

I'm just saying every so often there's always a thread like "Such and such member should be a mod" and that member never becomes a mod.
