Can Toei made Toku shows not seem like a kid shows??

If you enjoy watching the Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series then keep on watching.

Who cares or gives a damn what other people think. They like what they like and you like what you like!

No matter where you go, your gonna run into the problem of people calling these shows "kid shows, et...".

I hear the line all the time "How can you watch Japanese Power Rangers and those Japanese cartoons?"

All that does is let me know how ignorant and close-minded they really are.

Just remember to quit worrying about what others think. If you like to watch it then continue watching it no matter what they say!!!

Yes, I can say Garo is overrated, when I see post after post lauding it for how "mature" it is simply because of its use of blood, intense battles, and occasional nudity. Now I like the show myself, but for God's sake there are plenty of better shows out there.

Accept it just because its a kids show deosnt mean it is bad and it needs to change. Kamen Rider may be aimed for kids but it has alot of adult elements in it. The only modern day Kamen rider seris that is very kiddish is that horrible Den-O(Yes im a huge Den-O hater and I am proud to admit it!)

Den-O is one of the best Heisei series, even though it has kiddie elements in it.

That is also an opinion along with what he said. & I liked Den-o, but here are some facts for you:

It had a lot of plot holes & a lot of fillers. That isn't solid.

It's pointless to argue with other toku fans about certain shows. Everyone's going to have their own opinions and their own distinct tastes. As the Katt Williams vid I posted earlier in this thread states, "Let the haters hate, 'cause that's their job!" Everyone's going to be a hater of a particular series; there's just no way around it. You can try and turn around their opinions all you want, but ultimately, it's up to the person himself to take a second look at it for themselves. If they end up liking it, good, but if they still don't like it the second time around, oh well.

I once read a comic about the history of Kamen Rider that Ishinomori Shotaro want Skull Man(the design as a hero) to be a tokusatsu series in 1971 instead of Kamen Rider. Luckily, Hirayama rejected it. Otherwise, Toei may have to stop producing tokusatsu series in 1970s since kids may have reject Skull Man design as a hero. There are more kids in Japan during the 1970s compare with today.

And regardless of the accident Hiroshi Fujioka had when doing Episode 9 of Masked Rider, the show would've changed, anyway. One of several options was to have Masked Rider be able to grow to giant size! This was something all superheroes had to do that time, because of the 2nd Kaijuu Boom brought on by Spectreman. 1971 was quite a competitive year for superheroes, and after that, even Giant Heroes and kaijuu had to compromise with the Henshin Boom!

So yeah, Ishinomori should be glad that he was able to do Skullman at all, but Masked Rider was far more innovative! He was at least able to come up with something children would love (thanks to Hirayama and his own son Jou Onodera).

Here, here! Even though it can be fun at times, I personally feel Toei's modern works to be rather poor and soulless compared to, say, Tsuburaya. Not trying to start anything here but I really feel like Tsuburaya's one of the only decent Tokusatsu-producing companies out there. Even the mighty Toho has fallen pretty far from what they used to be way back when, IMO. I fear the same may happen to TPC since they've been bought out by TYO. I can only hope that doesn't happen.

Maybe, maybe not. Even under TYO, Tsuburaya is still chiefly a special effects studio, not a major corporation like Toho or Toei. Toho finds special effects to be a real chore for them (especially if it involves giant monsters). They picture Eiji Tsuburaya when they think of special effects, and they cannot get over the strong clout Eiji had over them until his death. So they'll only do superheroes and monsters when they feel like it. (And considering that theatrical giant monster movies are practically dead in Japan, they will not do another Godzilla movie for a long time.) And in the superhero field, Toei cannot diversify, being dependent on the same formula. Anything "different" (like Changerion) would not be bankable, and be rejected immediately. So much for the rumored Kikaider Accel.

Garo, like many tokus, has become overrated in this fandom. As you like to say, deal with it. It's moved way past just people's opinions.
