Can Toei made Toku shows not seem like a kid shows??

The heat of the flames are so strong I have only one solution to offer:

We bake Delicious Baked Goods over it.

I move this thread now be dedicated to the discussion of Delicious Baked Goods. All in favor say 'Pie!'

PIE!

I like a nice warm apple pie with some cream on top...hmmm... normal, whipped, english, double devon or ice...any type of cream will do. I also love pecan pie.

There's also this place I know that does some of the BEST sugar pies around. They have sugar apple and sugar strawberry pies too...hmm... I miss going there and gorging on Delicious Baked Goods. They also had this strawberry cheese pie to DIE for. It was like a cheesecake in a thick graham pie plate shaped crust topped with strawberries. HMMM!

You know, everyone talks about how all the old Godzilla movies always have a little kid in them but I can only think of three - in Revenge, vs. Hedorah, and vs. Megalon. It really wasn't commonplace until the 2000s.

Gamera, on the other hand...

I don't care how good the last fifteen episodes may or may not have been when the first 29 episodes were all so damned boring. Comedy doesn't bother me - the first episode had me rolling - but every episode I saw just felt like dull filler.

Here, here! Even though it can be fun at times, I personally feel Toei's modern works to be rather poor and soulless compared to, say, Tsuburaya. Not trying to start anything here but I really feel like Tsuburaya's one of the only decent Tokusatsu-producing companies out there. Even the mighty Toho has fallen pretty far from what they used to be way back when, IMO. I fear the same may happen to TPC since they've been bought out by TYO. I can only hope that doesn't happen.

I meant the movies of the same years when the Rider series were already on the air. Andlet's remember the annoying little kids on Ultraman...

I don't know. I love the recent Tsuburaya production I have seen. But I think it's too much to oppose them. I can agree that Tsuburaya is more experimental the last years, with more dark shows (like Nexus) mature shows, (like Ultraseven X or Ultra Q: Dark Fantasy) and more classic shows (Max or Mebius).

I have no issues with kids if they're well-acted. The problem is that they're often not so. The leads in Ultraman Gaia: The Battle in Hyperspace, The Great Yokai War and Gamera the Brave were all surprisingly good though.

I wish I could say the same for MIKAZUKI. The cardboardness of his acting keeps it from beating out WoO and Max as my favorite modern toku series. Alas.

Anyway, the shows are marketed for kids so you're going to see kids in them. Instead of complaining and whining about their presence and wishing they were dropped entirely I think people should just accept it and hope we get well-acted, well-written child characters. Call me crazy but I *like* child roles if they're well done and make sense.

Whatever you make please make it with gluten-free ingredients.

Otherwise I hate all of you. ;_;

Get off this holier-than-thou high horse of Sacred Opinion before you knock your head on a tree branch. People can say whatever the hell they want as they see it. Garo, like many tokus, has become overrated in this fandom. As you like to say, deal with it. It's moved way past just people's opinions. There is a difference between saying a show is good and outright worship of it.

Worship of it? NO! I and the others aren't worshiping the show. The show is just awesome and the best of the best toku in terms of the way they made it. GREAT CGI, GREAT CROSS BET. TOKU AND HORROR (uh... Horrors are the foes of this and also a fallen warrior BARAGO), GREAT STORY and SPONTANEOUS ACTION THAT DRIVES YOU CHEERING FOR IT.

Agreed.

I like Tokusatsu.

We know it Midori Ken, we know.

Now this thread really calls for a Water Bath with ice on it so that this becomes cold and unfathomably smoother.
