What’s a PIRATE BORG — a cultist from space with cybernetic implants who has a peg leg and a parrot? Yes, but it’s also the name of a tabletop RPG spinoff.
Free League Workshop
Free League Publishing and Stockholm Kartell developed and released MORG BORG in 2020, a tabletop RPG with a dark and grungy artpunk style. While a few expansions for MORK BORG have been released, we’ve had to wait for a true sequel until today. CY_BORG is almost ready and will be hitting shelves next month.
Earlier this year Free League brought out NORK BORG, the first tabletop game published under their Free League’s Workshop label (a sublabel for externally developed games, as well as a website for fan-created scenarios).
Today is the day you can MORK BORG your head off, as the first tabletop game to be published under Free League’s Workshop label (a new sublabel for externally developed games, as well as a website for fan-created scenarios) becomes available.
As we’ve covered here many times, Free League Publishing puts out popular RPG series like Tales from the Loop, Mutant: Year Zero, Coriolis, Forbidden Lands, and Symbaroum. With most RPGs you can stick to the stories in the sourcebooks, or you can make your own. But it’s not common for the RPG company to provide you the chance to sell your original story if it’s good enough.
What is MORK BORG? Something the Swedish Chef might say? Yes, but it’s also the name of the first tabletop game to be published under Free League’s new sublabel for externally developed games: Free League Workshop.
