Who is the most violent toku hero?

Garo is killing human beings even though they are possessed to the point of no return.

So do most Kamen Riders...

Double is one of the few to not kill humans even though he fights them all the time.

Yes, NEVER and Kazu Jun are dead and they technically aren't human anymore and they depended on their Memories to survive, so Double didn't really kill them.

Garo and Rei are of course violent and will go all out. Essentially, Garo is killing human beings even though they are possessed to the point of no return.

So do most Kamen Riders...
A lot of rider shows have a very large implied bodycount, but we don't see that violence. Obviously there's Kuuga and Agito, where the police specifically mention the numbers of people murdered by the monsters, but we don't see all those killing sprees. Ryuuki featured Scissors, who was powering up his mirror monster by having it kill lots of people, and Ouja, who was a known serial killer. The monsters in Faiz were all originally humans who had a violent, painful death. The Worms in Kabuto were usually presumed to have killed the person they were mimicking. The Fangire in Kiva are known to feed on people, and are often shown in both the past and present segments, meaning they were presumably active (and feeding) for 20 years. Then finally, we have Wizard, where the only known method (in the first 4 episodes anyway) for the Phantoms to spawn involves killing a human.

It's the same with a lot of other toku. Dekaranger had aliens who were deleted for murdering the populations of entire planets offscreen. It seems reasonable to assume that Godzilla racks up a bodycount in the thousands in some of his movies (appropriate for a walking metaphor for nuclear weapons), but all we see are skyscrapers getting knocked over, rather than mountains of crushed corpses and hospital wards overflowing with people slowly dying from radiation exposure.

I think there's a big difference between what "feels" violent and what might actually be the story with the most deaths.

We were on the topic of the heroes doing it. Why say what the villains do? :eyebrow:

Not seeing the violence doesn't mean that it does not exist. Not showing deaths on screen does not mean that no one died.

Violence does not mean who killed the most anyway.

Decade brutalized Kuuga. I forgot about that. That's why I changed my vote to Decade. It's not that he killed the most humans. Kamen Rider 1 killed more humans than Decade.

Eh, I dunno. I always thought the Decade vs. Kuuga fights looked so wimpy compared to the original Kuuga vs. N'Daguba Zeba fight, which was difficult to watch. It was shot exactly like two guys beating each other to death in a street fight, completely devoid of glamour. It was underwhelming, in a weird way, but extremely visceral in another. Watching it made my knuckles hurt.

I guess I feel like if you want to hype up Kuuga vs. Decade as something meaningful on that level, you need to depict that kind of grit at a much higher power level. Early on the show had the right idea, depicting even the possibility of such a battle as something like a natural disaster. The actual fights they did were... just typical Rider fights, really.

Aside from the two last posts, I think they were talking about the Decade (series) destroying the Kuuga (image), not Decade (character) beating up Kuuga...

Still, unrelated to that, I think they were going for the same street brawling feel for the Decade vs Kuuga battle in Movie Wars 2010. After Kuuga "levitates" in the beginning, it's just punches and kicks with no special powers or abilities, or even any super jumps or anything... until Onodera is defeated on the ground and turns into Ultimate Gouram.

Of course, I guess that while Kuuga vs Daguba was like a cam recorded street brawl, Ultimate Kuuga vs Decade was like a movie street fight, especially with the way it ends by Decade outsmarting him and getting cheap shots that knock him down... which really makes the whole thing kind of pointless. They might as well have gone for a flashy super powers showdown like in the 2nd episode dream sequence.

Kamen Rider 1 killed more humans than Decade.

Decade does have the whole "Dai-Shocker" bit which would should add quite a few heads to his count... We know at least that he tortured and cut off the arm of an alternate Yuki Jouji, personally, just because he wasn't necessary anymore for Dai-Shocker after finishing the Decade Driver.

Kuuga's last fight looked wimpy, but we're talking about that part in which Decade transforms Kuuga with Final Form Ride and he activates another card for Momotaros to attach his sword to Kuuga through Kuuga's butt and you can see Onodera reacting to it.

Does anyone have a clip of that?

Do you honestly believe this is an example of a "violent" tokusatsu fight? It looks an awful lot like you're just making a sodomy joke as part of an effort to ruin the thread.

Feel free to confirm or deny.
