Probably, but maybe Haim Saban would work with another company and they might buy the rights back to adapt Super Sentai from Disney in about 3-5 years from now. So for now, all we can do is hope that Disney never touches Shinkenger for the time being.

Just leave it untranslated so it looks cool. You've been able to buy all sorts of t-shirts and crap in the US for years that featured untranslated kanji, used just for their aesthetic value.

Personally I'd play it close to the original but instead of having the Samurai deal be one generation after another just slap a big ol' '500 years' or so delay between the last time the bad guys showed up.

get an Asian red and find some random reasons why his band of Teengers with Attitude get to join him in the fight against the Demons (or what have you). I'd make Blue the geeky one who gets really excited and wants to show off 'because its how its done'.
