They should have adapt Shinkenger into Power Rangers 2010!

There was an attempt at an American version of Fawlty Towers. It is remembered mostly for being goddamn terrible.

Now, the American version of The Office isn't worth dismissing out-of-hand in favor of the British version.

What he said. You can't beat the original.

They never do an American version of Dr Who, Mr Bean, Fawlty Towers? Why do an American version of Sentai, Kamen Rider, Ultraman...

EDIT: Hey Allie, where's your avatar?

They've tried to do American versions of Mr Bean and Fawlty Towers (well, if you count the first Mr Bean movie, which was about him travelling to the USA.) More than one American version of Fawlty Towers IIRC, all of which were disastrous failures.

Through pictures it's been confirmed that she gets a full posedown.

Is it a custom posedown, or is it just Takeru's?

Also, everytime I see you write something, I picture your voice as Linkara for some reason...must be the name...and the hat in the picture...

I'm watching you...

The Japanese merchandising always pushes Red as the best/strongest Ranger. For Japanese media, letting a woman even briefly take that role in an action series for little boys is extremely unusual. Female characters are usually marginalized in one way or another in that sort of series.
In that case, I'd be more impressed if it were a leader full time.

So would I, but a franchise has to walk before it runs. A part-time female Shinken Red is pretty much going to pave the way, sooner or later, for a full-time female Red Ranger at some point in the future.

Heheh, I've used my handle online since about 1997... but Linkara is a pretty cool dude so I'm flattered by the comparison.

Shinken Red's posedown appears to be the full sequence the Shinkengers usually go through. It's not clear from the still photo released so far if she has her own pose or re-uses Takeru's.

They also tired to make an american version of Doctor Who in 1996. It wasn't awful, but it's got nothing on either the old series or the new one.

I can definetly see somebody byin Power Rangers and re adapting it again in the next let me say 3 years? Maybe Saban or whatever there called now will buy them. Maybe they just didn't want to adapt SHinkenger?

Probably, but maybe Haim Saban would work with another company and they might buy the rights back to adapt Super Sentai from Disney in about 3-5 years from now. So for now, all we can do is hope that Disney never touches Shinkenger for the time being.

Damn. I had never known that.

And I'm glad that there was never an American version of Mr Bean. It just wouldn't work. Although there was a Japanese version of Mr Bean but I don't know much about that.

Damn, so they've Americanized Japanese Toku and Amine, British comedys, what next? Are they gonna Americanize German Volksmusik by adding hip hop style beats?
