Heyman could do wonders for TNA, but truth be told he probably is too good for them. His brand of creative is just the boost the company needs to get back on its feet

His brand of creative is making it like a carbon copy of MMA. And not trying to make it pro-wrestling that is exciting. If he really gave a **** about "WRESTLING" he would not be looking at a payday in Strikeforce.

Again, he is a type of guy who would put in his creative effort and built the company HIS way and if it did not work, he would leave and pretend like it wasn't a failure on his part. Example: ECW December 2 Dismember PPV (2006).

that still think it's hip to talk about WCW and ECW and that's why they'll never break out and be popular with more dedicated wrestling fans: because they choose to hide behind known faces and gimmicks and don't have the balls to put their own original product out there to compete with WWE. It's pathetic. I never thought I would actually admire WWE as a promotion.

That's true but in order to do that, you need to attract casual viewers (ones that show up in ratings data). Fact is, sheep that follow the WWE feel inclined to "worship" it and if you don't, It makes you a traitor. Yes, TNA should build their own image but at the sametime, It's not working in the modern day.

Eric has actually done more great things than what many try to accuse him for. TNA Reaction is original, something wrestling has never really done before.

Adding a second show for International viewership, something has never really been done before. Like it or not, the Ranking system has never really been done before. You can argue if it's good or not but it's nothing WWE has ever done really.

I could have sworn the Bischoff first implemented a Ranking system in WCW, but I'm most likely wrong.

But yeah, that's something I wish the WWE would start doing.......so we don't end up with certain people being pushed up to the top of the ladder way in "unprecedented fashion"

The only problem with the Ranking system was the idea of having the fans vote on it. While that would be great, you would have more IWC fans voting on who they want (Wolfe) instead of all sorts of wrestlers.

But other than that, I felt the Ranking system is good. You know who is next in line to get a title shot rather than the cliche "Hey, I WANT A TITLE SHOT DAMNIT!!!" promos that always happens and it also helps explains the flawed concept in wrestling that names a wrestler with a title shot a "Number 1 contender"...but somehow there is no such thing as a Number 2, 3 or 4 contender.

Right now, everyone knows Jeff Hardy was the 2nd contender before RVD was injured. So, it has alot of good meaning. Just like how the EVOLVE indy promotion has win/loss rankings to determine championship matches.

I think Heyman just knows wrestling and what goes into creating a solid, entertaining show more than any other booker out there. He would have an endless amount of talent to work with in TNA and there's no doubt in my mind that he's good enough at what he does to put together some really fresh, exciting matches instead of variations of the same uninteresting stuff that we've been seeing week to week. I don't doubt that he has an ego, and if I were him I'd probably have an ego too. But it's been proven that you can get over with an innovative, unique product just as well if not better than you can by rehashing and overexposing yesterday's news (just look at the original ECW), and what TNA needs the most now is to distance themselves from WWE as much as possible and not try to compete with them head on, because they will always lose.

It was a very fatal mistake for TNA to remove that 6-sided ring.......that had potential to bring innovation to the wrestling industry. Replacing it with the traditional 4 sided ring just made TNA slightly regress back to being generic, but it didn't hurt them that much.

But that 6-sided ring had potential to create more innovative matches than we've ever seen in awhile.

Except that wasn't really his fault. Heyman may have been in charge of the new ECW at the time but anybody with two active brain cells in their head knew Vince was going to have the final say no matter what. Now I don't know who's idea it was to only have two advertised matches going inot the month leading to the PPV, but I do know Paul had that Elimination Chamber booked a little differently than what we've saw. FRom what I've read Big Show an Punk were supposed to start the match and Show was going to tap out to the Anaconda Vice before the first person came out of the chamber. And Show apparently didn't mind because Punk was on the rise and this was going to put him over huge. Vince on the other hand didn't like and pretty much changed everything, then went on to blame Paul when just about everybody said the PPV was a POS.

Heyman would be a great help to TNA if they let him. The original ECW had featured but young and relatively unknown guys at the time. He booked and gave guys like Eddie Guerrero, Rey Misterio, Dean Malenko, Lance Storm, Tazz, Steve Corino, etc, etc a place and a chance to show what the could do in front of an American audience. And he took what was an local, east coast indy company and turned it into the #3 wrestling company in the country. His only real major mistake was he signed a national TV deal with TNN, The Nashville Network which would eventually go on to become Spike TV. Now I only watched that block of shows they had on Friday nights, but during that 2-3 hours I only saw commercials for ECW was during the ECW show itself. Then they went behind their backs and signed a deal with Vince and the WWE

Now this is going to sound contratidery to what I said in the previous paragraph, but Vince apparently had a soft spot for ECW and Heyman back then. Now apparently there is a clause in these contract the WWE puts in saying they can be the only wrestling organization on these networks. The moment that contract was signed TNN was going to pull the plug on ECW right before Raw aired, if not the day it was signed. Vince said he would waive that clause for a year, giving Heyman a chance to shop the show around while still having a national program. TNN pulled the plug anyway after a few months.

Has he made mistakes, yes. Does he know how to book young talent, yes. He will book to people's strengths, make sure they look like a million bucks out there in front of an audience.

I didn't know that about the Extreme Elimination Chamber match.

Both that and the way it actually played out make perfect sense because the Big Show of 2006 wasn't exactly in the best shape, so having him start, and eliminated before the next person enters, and having him be the last person to enter both would have worked around his limitations at the time.

I'm sure Heyman had that in mind when he booked things. I don't know what kind of relationship they had behind the scenes Show always seemed to work harder and looked motivated when he was behind the booking, either on Smackdown or ECW.

Impact! this week was pretty good. I liked the ECW/IV Horsemen segment.

Reaction is kind of interesting too, kinda like a reality behind the scenes show for after impact. Not bad.

Was I seeing things or did AJ Styles get "A.J" tatooed on his stomach?.

Dude, reading this makes me think you've been a wrestling fan for maybe 2 years.

First of all December 2 Dismember was Vince's fault and he used Paul as a scapegoat and fired him afterwards. Especially with 2 days worth of promotion and only 1 match being fucking promoted. It was Vince, not Paul.

Paul knows wrestling and would take TNA to an entirely NEW level of badassery just like he did with his ECW.

Has anybody watched Lucha Libre USA on MTV2? Just watched the first 2 eps on youtube. The commentators need a little work, but it's interesting.

For those of you have haven't seen it, here's episode 1
