Ressha Sentai ToQger - Ep 3 "Desperate once Convinced"

I just realized that ToQ5 is the most overpowered ranger as she can shrink people and become what she believes.

At the same time…she also appears the weakest because the whole "I think I can" act makes it seem like she really can't do anything on her own. She pales to Amy by comparison whom had to get a robotic triceratops to submit before she could use her powers.

Really, that shtick of her's is the only reason why she's my least favrioute of the Tokkyugers.

That's the power of imagination for you. With it, you can do anything!

While Kagura rely on her imagination too much, it's become nothing but a crutch for her. Since it's preventing her from using her true strenght.

I'd argue that because of the poor design of the mechs and its publicity, they'd ditch the series altogether for adapting Gobusters instead. Despite Busters not well in sales, I doubt Bandai will be able to sell a Power Rangers series where the main megazord toy has the worst design choice if it is not transformed properly. If the series itself has more gags like this and characters as such, Saban and Toei could easily overrule Bandai and take a series that, to be honest, would have far more of a success in the West than it did in Japan in both ways. One in that spies are financially bankable and 2. the toy-line can be expanded to a spy theme.

Saban will otherwise have to cut around the mecha formation and any gags thrown in order to make this series acceptable to American audiences, let alone the controversy over the megazord and any dirty remnants left over from ToQGer. Between a series that had lower self-inflicted toy sales and a series that could prove as risky as Dairanger , I bet we're getting Gobusters for that very reason after Dino Charge.

Not to start up this whole argument again, but I really don't see it happening.

1. We don't know if Gobusters is being skipped or is just being merged with Kyoryuger somehow.

2. Even if it has been ditched, we know they weren't allowed to skip Goseiger, which means Gobusters must have been an exception. Probably because they wanted a popular season to follow up their anniversary instead of something that did incredibly badly. Toei are probably happy enough to pretend Gobusters didn't happen and don't want to risk the toys flopping again. One exception doesn't mean they can just pick and choose which shows they want from now on.

3. Trains are incredibly popular in the west. I don't see them skipping it just because of an awkward attack/transformation that they can easily cut around, not when they can potentially get a lot of money from toy sales. They always re-engineer the American toys anyway.

Oh god! It's happening again

Sorry for the late review, folks! My internet was down for a while, and a family member is in town for the week. :)

--Ha! Sexy selfies. :anime: Oh Wagon, if only you were human... Now leave before I beg you to stay.
--Have I mentioned how Right makes a better Alata than Alata did? I am sure someone has. I'll stop pointing that out from now on. :coolshades:
--The more I see of this series, the more I am reminded of a classic anime/manga style. Maybe something like Go Nagai, Miyazaki, Tezuka, or even classic Ishinomori (what a coincidence). Anyone else think that? If this this show was animated, I'd definitely go for one of those classic styles... :hmm:
--You don't keep things you've dropped? There's got to be a joke in there somewhere... :169:
--That bridge shot... Either the CGI is getting better or it's something else. Really good use of miniatures? They remodeled an actual train? Taking all bets! :)
--Anyone else wish they hadn't blocked ToQ5? Just seems like they would have ended this battle much faster if they did. Still, I guess seeing more Male Pink and Female Red action is always good. :rolleyes2:
--OH MY! Well, they broke out of that coffin in the most exciting way! No need to burry ToQ-Oh, he's all ready hung. Is that a train in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

After seeing ToQ-Oh's victory, it was really hard for me to focus on anything else after. I hope they keep making this a thing through the entire series! :rofl2:

Loving this series so far! It's exactly what I expected. A fun, colorful cast with fun colorful action scenes and a some what goofy/possibly somewhat serious story! That's what I expected and so far that's what I'm getting and I love it!

I'm so glad to get into a recent sentai again! I didn't like Gobusters or Kyouryuger.

How does that even make sense? The only reason people compare them so much is because they both look young. If anything Right is more like, say, AbaRed - he's idealistic, naive and energetic, but not as loud as a Ban or a Sousuke.

In context of the respective shows, Amy defeated a dinosaur (which is what makes a Kyoryuger strong), Kagura has a powerful Imagination (which is what makes a ToQger strong.) And Amy's character was ultimately all about Daigo, so if Kagura gets a proper character arc, she will be better executed than Amy.
