Power Rangers RPM

And the downside is?

Honestly, it's not my favorite.

Whats with people saying light-hearted?

Power Rangers is Power Rangers There not that great for them to
have choices weather which year they'll go light or serious. There always
and i mean always going to take the cool approach. and then with
that comes cornyness(which so far there doing really good at:rolleyes2:)
and most of the time seriousness.

See that ForeverRed? no enters and what not....you killed me man:disappoin:laugh:

...what?

I haven't seen Go-Onger but from what I've heard it has a lot of comedy like Carranger. What nearly killed Turbo was trying to make it more serious while the Sentai was actually more comedic. I really don't want something like this happening again.

RPM has one thing going for it that Turbo didn't have, and that is the mostly all original battles that the show has been doing.

The show is a lot less dependent on the Sentai Footage then it used to be, which seems to be now only being used for the zord battles and the exterior of the villains' base.

thats a down side, in my opinion. Sure the NZ fights are nice but they often are over excessive and take away from the rest of what little episodic plot we get. The production needs to go back to relying on Sentai footage. They are wasting good money refilming scenes when they already have footage they can appropriately use.

I don't know how many know this, but toon disney is shutting down!

According to an interveiw with disney, toon disney has become a commercial failure. Disney is going to replace it with a new channel called Disney XD. Disney XD will be aimed at 6-14 year olds, like the Disney Channel used to back in 1998. The Jetix block will not be returning with it, ending Jetix tv in America. This all happens in February 2009, the same month as the U.S ending of non-digital tv. Power Rangers Ninja Storm thru Power Rangers Jungle Fury will be shown at different times through out the day and night. Power Rangers RPM will be shown at a late night time. What they mean by late nite i don't know. My guess is the PR:RPM is being re-aimmed at teen fans and late nite must mean 9 pm EST if not later.

I'm sorry but i have promised I wouldn't reveil my source whom did the interview with disney.

If you need more proof, maybe a member like poweranimals can confirm this. However with as much detail as i been told about Disney XD i am inclined to believe my source.

EDIT: I managed to find this article online http://www.latimes.com/business/la-f...,3536595.story and this one http://corporate.disney.go.com/corpo...disney_xd.html

I'm wouldn't be surprised if it is true.

well with channels like ToonDis (and lets be honest, XD is probably just going to be a revamped version of Toon Disney that doesnt always focus on toons.), a show being aired late at night doesnt indicate a certain demographic.

I highly doubt PR will be aimed at teens, as teens arent the ones buying the toys.

That article is made up of half-truths.

Toon Disney was never a commercial failure, it's just reached the end of its shelf life. Jetix was originally intended to be its successor, but instead the channel will now be called Disney XD, perhaps to capitalise on XB's multimedia nature.

As for PR gearing up for an older audience, possibly. Their most recent brief asked for a TV-PG drama series pitch along the lines of Samurai Girl and Naruto. But if they do change PR, they'll ensure it's child-friendly, like the new Star Wars series. I doubt they'll make it TV-PG though...
