New Garo Toyline: Makai-Kadou

Hello guys.

A friend is going to Japan this summer and I'll give him some money to buy Garo figures, but I have some questions.

First question:Equip and prop or Makai Kadou? Which one is better?

And the other question: How many figures have been released til this date of both collections? I can't find a list with all of them.

makai kadou is way better , the equip and prop was the start but had alot of issuse like parts poping off very easy and limit articulation on the figures , but u should look up videos of the figures on youtube for more help..

P.S. does anyone know if or when they will do a figure on the phantom crow knight?

Question for you guys:

Afternoon guys/gals

I've been browsing these figures for a while, and I'm to the point of wanting to grab a few, but it's all rather confusing for someone new to this series. The different sizes, prices, and types (pose and gear versus MakaiKado) is absolutely confusing. Plus, one run of these apparently had terrible QC/articulation? Can anyone help steer a collector in the right direction?

I'd really like to get a complete set of the horses/riders, but the differing prices/sizes/types is making me fear getting something I didn't want. I'd really like the larger, more articulated lines, but it seems the horses were made for the smaller line is that correct?

These horses look like they were made for these guys versus these guys right?

I'll help you out the best I can. I own pretty much every Makai-Kado release, even though I only reviewed up through Baron.

Everything you linked to at the bottom of your post is a Makai-Kado release. All Makai-Kado releases are the same roughly 7-8" height depending on the armor. Garo, Zero, and Kiba were all remolded from the Equip and Prop line for the Makai-Kado line. Those three are by far the worst of the line, but mine have held up pretty solid and still make nice display pieces.

The smaller 4" scale figures are the S.I.C. Garo Tamashii series. There wasn't that many releases in that scale. Equip and Prop are much older, and are the same scale as Makai-Kado, but only cover the first season of the show obviously.

At the end of the day, just buy anything Makai-Kado and you're pretty okay. Like I said, Garo, Zero, and Kiba are the worst of the bunch, but can still be pretty solid toys. The horses are just beyond incredible on a display.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply Shuken.

So these guys are probably too big huh? I like this line a lot because they're fairly detailed and seem to have pretty awesome articulation.

The horses are pretty awesome, but the prices insane at this point. I'm still thinking about grabbing a set though.

Thanks for clearing things up for me though.

here is a youtube vid of my collection but its short and i didnt do my best at filming it or had good lighting for it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoO1aPCahyM&feature=youtu.be btw the skyknight is bigger then most of the armors on the makai kado line but so is the flash knight i mean compared to the flame knight and others, not as big as the dark knight kiba. but the equip and prop line goes with the makai kado line fine its the S.I.C. Garo Tamashii series that is too small

So much freaking yes!!

No idea why Bandai didn't release any Garo figures of any kind during last year's release of Garo TV and anime series.

From the prototype photo, the head sculpt doesn't really appel to me. Liked the first sculpt that the Equip & Prop series had.

Loving the sculpt of the body. The feet seem to hearken back to the original Equip & Prop's design of using wolf feet instead of the recent ones, that to be honest looked like pixie shoes.

Nice! Might have to pick up 3 of them (1 for each of the Saejimas) and retiring my E&Ps.

I'm kind of choked about Ryuuga's armor. When he first restored its shine, it reverted to the original suit design. It was because of this that I passed on the golden version MK, but in the new series its a golden version of the black armor. The gold version has since skyrocketed in price so the Ryuuga on my shelf will not be restoring his shine any time soon...
