I don't think that they're focusing on Bikuu because she was an AKB member. Most ex-AKB are not precisely successful actress and the fans promptly choose another idol to follow, so there's no big fandom attraction.

The reason why she gets so many things is because Amemiya loves the character. It is something that he created specifically watching the actress, and developed all that concept of Makai priests that hunt another people from the Makai order. He also said that he had a lot of ideas for the character.

Anyway, I am liking this show so far. Episode 4 was the weakester, but entertaining at least, and Miki Nanri is pretty.

Slightly on a tangent: I find it a bit strange that there's been no news of a Raiga movie, even though it was announced at the same time as Bikuu's. At the annual GARO event in November last year, when they made the announcement about Konishi's health, they read out a letter from him in which he asked fans to support Raiga/Masei Nakayama as Kouga's successor and main character of the franchise. You'd think they would be planning to do more with Raiga ... I guess he might still appear in Makai Retsuden though.

I definitely think episode 5 is a lead-in for Yuna, Kain and Leo to reappear in the ZERO series that's coming soon

I think I said this before in this forum, but Ryuuga movie also took a lot, changed names and I thought it was cancelled, but it wasn't. Let's remember that they only announced that Raiga movie was going to start production, so the announcement was less like a teaser and more like a "We have decided that we are going to do this".

I guess (and hope) they are going to do like they did with Red Requiem or Gold Storm, movie that acts as a bridge for another Raiga season.

While I'm not fond of Ryuuga nor Rian and especially the godawful romance, I think Gold Storm was an improvement over YamiTera and both were at least attempting to tell a different story ... whereas Makai no Hana was basically just trying to repeat Kouga/Kaoru with the genders reversed (and the eternally awful "woman as McGuffin" plot.) And IMO Aguri and Takeru were infinitely better supporting characters than the dreadful Crow

I guess Raiga is the one promoted to new face of the franchise just because he's Kouga's son and the closest link to the original hero. Doesn't preclude them doing any more with Ryuuga

Thoughts on episode 7, wasn't expecting a Haruna episode. At least one where she's trying to be a normal teenager. The high School stuff was dull but daigo did liven it up a bit. Although I do have one problem with this one, and it might be a weird one to have, but didn't Haruna have a limp or something in Goldstorm? I know she was kind of sickly, she even mentions being in poor health to her letter to her brother, be she seemed way more active here than in Goldstorm.

Episode 8, another 2 stroy episodes. I actually did feel sorry for Shinguto a little. I guess even Makai Knights and Priests can have a momentary wondering of "Whar if" when presented with the opportunity of normal life so to speak. But there's a reason why their world is kept separate from the regular world. On a side note, the kid was kinda annoying. Now we have Crow's part. Actually I'm a little surprised we got a follow up on Makai no Hana main plot, or at least the after math. I was a little surprised what the fight between Crow and Busujima ended up being but it was an interesting twist. Although out of all four half stories so far this is the one I wished got a full episodes, if nothing else to explain the connection between Crow, Busujima and Akari.

Okay, an episode focusing on the kid from the Bikuu movie, which I haven't seen so yeah. At least they had him explain who he is and what's he doing. Kind of wished they showed more of what's "inside" a person's particular heart, but I guess budget constraints. although I know have a image of tyhe tough guy that punched him playing with kittens.

I find it kind of sad that in episode that appeared to be about Ryume (and we did get get a bit about her history) we learned more about D Ringo here than the entirety of Goldstorm, movie and series.

You know, basically being a country boy it makes sense Tsubasa would be slightly confused by city life. Hell I know that one couple would have freaked me out. Still it was nice to see his motivation, and a bit of a more human side where his friend was concerned. And at least for now it looks like him and Jabi are becoming an item, or starting too at least. Or again, she did tell those girls that he was a stick in the mud and he was resistant to her help. That last one may be Tsubasa in general though.

we have another Golden Knight sitting. and it's Kouga the one we all were hoping to see. Kouga finally popped up completing the Garo hat trick. Okay we only got about 30 seconds of Ryuga in Rain's episode but it still counts. Hell considering how the series was described I thought we be lucky if we got an episode featuring Kouga's dad Taiga. actually, now that I think about it I'm a little disappointed we didn't get an episode featuring Taiga. well matbe if they decide to do a season 2 of Makai Restsuden The story itself was pretty good, I liked how it tied in with the ending episodes of Makai no Hana and featuring, which i never really considered until this episode pointed it out, the closest thing to an arch enemy Garo is going to have. Rekka and Rain where pretty cool together, although fighting to figure out who was going tobe te alpha female was a bit much. Guess you can't go anywhere without heroes fight than team up trope sneaking in.

Over all I liked this particular series. It's not everybody cup of tea obviously but I enjoyed the look at the various character the franchise have introduced over the last 10 years.
