My Rant on the state of the Kamen Rider Series

I know it's rare in these parts of the woods but I actually really liked Den-O
I can understand complaints about Go-onger fully but I still enjoyed watching it.
Just cause I love Den-O doesn't mean I think everything else is ****. ;D

I've never really heard of anyone disrespecting the old series like you suggest.
Some of the criticisms you make such as the formulaic plots can also apply to the older series too.
I do agree that the new series have serious problems, like the overuse of terrible CG, and storyline problems (usually with changing writers halfway through) but Kuuga, Agito, Faiz and Blade were all good series.

It's a shame we ended up with things getting as bad as Kiva, but at least most of these series have, in simpler levels, still embodied what Masked Rider always has been at its heart; heroics, the desire to protect others from harm, and entertainment for children (and adults).

Also, and one of my favorite things about Kamen Rider thats never left, is the idea of the hero using the power of the enemy against them. Sorta like sticking it to the man.

The current Kamen Rider franchise has its shares of ups and downs.

Kuuga and Agito are without a doubt, the two best that new generation has to offer and I dare say I would rank those 2 up there with the best of the Showa era Rider shows.

Ryuki is a pretty good show in my opinion, better than what many give it credit for.

Faiz is interesting, the premis is interesting.

I haven't much of Blade but I really like Hibiki, in fact Hibiki himself is one of my all time favorite toku protagonists. People who complain that Hibiki does say Henshin or has a Rider Kick, well neither did Amazon.

Kabuto had potential and is an overall enjoyable but the writers really struck out with this show.

Den-O, was different but for me a welcome difference as it was a breath of fresh air after the likes of Kabuto, Blade and Faiz. I found the characters themselves likable and the show itself enjoyable and much better paced than Kabuto (Yep, I said it:169::loltongue:)

Haven't watched Kiva yet and not much of Decade.

Sooooooo, basically. What Fang says is the truth, but what's wrong Is that he's sort of forcing his beliefs on us, and some of us don't care.

correct?

If so, I think you guys are both right. Kenori is just a chill guy, Fang you can't change that. Black Fang spits the truth, a loves quality over quantity, and Ken and Everyone else should respect that also.

Black Fang will always be the critic, and Ken will be the laxed guy, watching the show. I think this argument Is pretty much done. dragging It on will just prove that, to get a good convo around here is to Argue.

Agreed, in the end, isn't that what Kamen Rider is really all about?

It is. But how many times is that really emphasized now? Tsurugi suddenly became bad comedy relief, shoving his Worm story aside. Ryotaro and Hana being Singularity Points, and Yuuto's isolation, got overshadowed by the Imagins always hogging the spotlight. Kiva spent a whole arc on Wataru having to choose sides, but even that got a tad spoiled by other factors.
