Mirai Sentai Timerager: Thoughts&Opinions

Well Toei seems to have planned Goukaiger carefully, and considering they were able to get guys out of Showbiz to come back, I think they might be able to bring Nagai back. Though getting Yuuri back wouldn't hurt. Yuuri was definitely a strong point in TimeRanger.

Ideally I would want to see Tatsuya and Yuuri but even having Yuuri by herself would be awesome. I'm really curious to see how they work TimeRanger in with GoKaiger considering the series ending.

Granted, Sentai Team-Ups are fast and loose with that kind of thing because the point is not keeping scorecards with continuity it's the OMG factor of getting teams together for a kickass adventure but so far with GoKaiger they seem to be pretty much approaching it as the great battle is something that happens post-series for everybody.

Couldn't Yuuri and co. still use the Time Jets even when not in Ranger form? I think they did that in the finale though they appeared transformed when they arrived in 2001. Though I will just be happy if they get them back for Goukai and whatever Narukawa does to keep it in within continuity is just gravy.

Though I think it would be hilarious if the hardcore Yuuri went toe to toe with Marvelous and his hardcore-ness.

Nah, after they destroyed Gien's Doomsday machine, Ayase, Yuuri, Sion and Domon went back to the future while Tatsuya stayed.

Hmm. Yeah I guess that would work after all. Yuuri and other returned and teamed with Tatsuya to fight in the 199 battle.

For some reason though I kept thinking there was something about the future as it stood after the final battle not being the exact future that Yuuri and other others came from yet Tatsuya alone remembers everything that happened before. Basically the others were made part of the new timeline.

Necro'd this thread because I am rewatching TimeRanger in order to refresh my memory on it and just because I like the show that much.

Timeranger Case 1:

Despite this being made 10 years ago, I really like how the future is designed in TimeRanger. I think they have the right mix of CGI and sets. I would even go as far to say the year 3000 in Time is better than the DekaBase in DekaRanger.

I like how bombastic the first episode is. From the very first episode we establish how Dorunero, Lila and Gien are the bad guys and intend to run away from the year 3000. I forgot how octane the first episode was. Though I haven't seen any series before Dairanger and all of Liveman, TimeRanger really is a bit more on the serious side from the get go. Especially compared to anything else in the decade.

Of course, can't forget the Matrix ripoff with the TimeRanger suits. I like how Tatsuya can't use the suits initially, instead of having the standard knowledge of the suit and its workings that's so common now a days.

Man, Nagai Masaru was a poor actor in the early days of TimeRanger, or maybe he just sucks at conveying disbelief. Definitely a fav Red, but he was definitely iffy.

So I'm basically almost 2/5 of the way through TimeRanger so sorry for the double post.

Once again, I love the future scenes. Especially Ryuuya in the control tower and Providus. His shield comes off and makes the portal and he punches things into the past! It's the mix between CGI and models that's really good.

I really like the weapons and mecha in Time, too bad the kids didn't think so. I remember my TimeRobo toy being super bulky in Beta form, but I loved how one toy had 3 forms!!! Plus the Vector Hurley's were definitely cool. I'm a fan of staffs so seeing the Vector Hurley with its blade staff thing is awesome.

Once again, I love Yuuri being back. Her goal oriented and natural leadership is a breath of fresh air, and her actor portrays her to a T. I love how Tatsuya is the most caring one and he is the one that ultimately makes Yuuri a more friendly person, especially after she finds her parents killer.

Ayase gets a lot of character development in the earlier episodes, and it makes sense because Domon, Yuuri and Tatsuya ultimately get their development with the introduction of Naoto, the City Guardians, Domon's girlfriend and Ryuuya's return.

I'll be brutally honest after watching the whole series twice, it's very depressing in a way, i also consider this MUCH darker than Jetman (if that's humanly possible)

EDIT: Actually the last season of the animated series Moral Orel beats out Timeranger for darkest depressing most bleak series ever on television

Yeah, but if they were planning to bring back Yuuri, then it might be her doppleganger in the final episode instead of the actual Yuuri. But, I guess we might have stick with the Gokaigers meeting Tatsuya-san instead. Plus there might a reference Gokai Silver's reaction towards Time Fire's cameo yet again. So, we'll just have to wait and see.
