Kamen Rider Gaim Ep 37 - "Baron Soccer Showdown: Summer Camp!"

Wow that episode was just weird. But fun.

I did like how they tried to make it tie in to the current events instead of changing the time frame. It wasn't bad. The action was extremely top-notch and it felt like a "what-if Kumon Kaito was the main character" type of story to me. It's good to have another one of his episodes. Didn't mind the cameos.

Good to see Hase again, awesome kaijin, and love that Kaito finally performed a Rider kick.

It was an alright introduction to the soccer world. Definitely felt different enough. Though I wonder - is the Kouta in the movie an alternate Kouta then? Or does he get transported too? And cool to see Mars in a TV episode.

Also, the amount of insert songs in this episode was awesome.

From what is known about the movie, OU/Mainstream Kouta is sent to Soccer World by Lapis. So really, Mainstream Kouta caught a glimpse of his future.

What kind of bothers is me is why Mainstream Kouta (during the movie) would randomly jump into a Crack just to kick Kaito's ass before presumably going to back to Lapis' world to defeat Mars. Seems silly.

By the way, the best part of the episode has to be the fight scene where Kiwami Gaim used the Melon Defender. That was supremely cool.

Wished Zangetsu used it more... Or had more screen time in general.

Dammit Gaim, don't scare me like that! For a second there I thought you were going to air a clip show. I don't think we've had one of those since Ryuki? It startled me. :O_O:

Is it me or is Sagara buying his clothes from Tatooine?

I guess that seeing as we never see him out of suit, Oren's actor was also taking a week off?

I realise that they're featuring professional football players on an episode airing the day of the World Cup final, but wow that's a shitload of CGI devoted to them!

Having kept away from spoiler threads, this is the first time I've heard what the movie Rider's (Mars?) lockseed was. There's that long-missing apple! :anime:
The MOTW reminded me of Kamen Rider Shin.
I was thinking more Black RX, but there's something very Rider-ish about that helmet design :anime: Monster form for the mysterious football kid in the film?
I feel there was a bit of missed opportunity with this episode. We didn't get a look at Gridon and Kurokage at football, and I thought it would've been an idea to give Kurokage shin his debut here to build up a bit of interest.
KUROKAGE LIVES!!! Oh, we barely get to see any of him.

This episode was actually canon so that's pretty cool I guess. Also while watching this episode I forgot what Hase looked like so I thought he was Bravo for a second. XD

Takatora can never die can he?

Guys, this episode is making me freak out. It's tapping into some weird memories. That thing Kaito did to the monster. It feels so weird, yet so familiar. Like a thing we cherished so long ago, only for it to be forever forgotten, washed away by the waves of time. What was it called again? Ri... Rider Click? No, not that that. Rider Ki... I am almost there... ah, alas, it's been too long... My memory is too rusty to remember something so ancient...
