Iman Vellani Officially Cast As Ms. Marvel
Last year Marvel Studios announced they were finally looking into doing something with their modern hit comic book Ms. Marvel. Two things, in fact…the character would be introduced to the MCU with her own Disney+ series, and then graduate into movies. Now they’ve found the actress who will be putting on the mask and embiggening her fists: Iman Vellani. Oh yeah, Iman Vellani….we remember her from….nothing, actually. In a rare move, Marvel Studios has filled a potentially major role with an actress that doesn’t have much experience in the industry beyond directing a short film. She’s fairly young at just 18, but so is Kamala Khan, the superheroine she’s protraying. She’s going to have this role for a while; no sense in having to deal with a 30-year-old Ms. Marvel this quickly. Khan is a Muslim Pakistani-American who fangirls after superheroes. She’s obsessed with them, so the day she gains superpowers herself, she’s ecstatic — and elastic. Ms. Marvel became an immediate hit, with readers finding Kamala a likeable and
Noise In The Middle To Be Heard This Fall
Terror Films has announced the arrival of their latest thriller, Noise In The Middle, to be released later this month exclusively on the premium AVOD horror channel Kings of Horror. When this one starts, its central characters Richard and Emmie are already pretty bad off…the mother of the family, Sara, has just died, and Emmie is severely autistic and can’t really verbalize her grief. Fortunately, one of the last things Sara did before passing was arrange for Emmie to receive an experimental treatment. UNfortunately, the house where that treatment is being conducted happens to be haunted. The paranormal activity in the house disturbs Emmie so much that her own latent psychic powers become active (guess what, she can do that) and who should appear before them but…Sara. Is it really Sara’s ghost, though, or something evil pretending to be her? Given their run of luck lately, we’d place our bets on “evil impersonator.” Noise In The Middle stars John Mese (Night of the Scarecrow), Tara Buck (True Blood), Tom Konkle
Don’t Look Back Creeps On Demand October 16
Gravitas Ventures and Kamikaze Dogfight have announced the release of the horror thriller Don’t Look Back on demand and in select theaters later this month. The creator of Final Destination has cooked up a new horror idea…that actually feels a lot like the previous horror idea, but with a new twist. Caitlin Kramer was jogging in the park when she happened to witness a brutal murder. She was one of several bystanders who watched a man getting beaten to death….and did nothing. One man even took a cell phone video of the tragedy (instead of calling the cops or something) and now they’re the most unpopular people around. But it gets worse. Now the witnesses are being murdered themselves, one by one. And the one doing the killing may not be just an outraged citizen. Caitlin suspects the one after them is actually the spirit of the murdered man, returning for revenge. If that’s the case, how can she possibly stop him? Don’t Look Back stars Kourtney Bell, Bryan Batt,

Gloomhaven: Fallen Lion Comes To Comics This December
First, Gloomhaven was a tabletop game. Then it became a video game. Now Isaac Childres’ creation is invading another medium: comic books. Gloomhaven: Fallen Lion is a one-shot book released through Ox Eye Media and Deep Water Games that expands the lore with a new story written by Travis McIntyre. “We’ve all put a lot of thought into what exists in the canon of Gloomhaven, and what Isaac’s vision is, and how story arcs fit into that and where there’s room to create,” says Travis. “I think we are going to be coloring in some areas that were left a little gray previously and adding shades and variations to bits of lore that previously existed.” The City of Gloomhaven can be a tough place to make it as an adventurer and being in the right party is key to survival. The Jaws of the Lion are the top of the mountain in the hierarchy of the city, but their latest job goes sideways, and Anaphi, the mindthief, is to blame!
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon Set For October 3 Debut
Last May, Viz Media announced a sequel series to Inuyasha was in production, titled Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon. The show will be leaping out of feudal Japan for a slightly more modern fairy tale, focusing on the adventures of the offspring of Inuyasha, Sesshomaru and Kagome. Back in ancient times, half-demon twins Towa and Setsuna become separated during a forest fire. Setsuna can’t seem to find Towa afterward, and there’s a good reason for that: Towa discovered another tunnel to modern-day Japan, where she meets Moroha, daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome. The tunnel closes before Towa can find her way back. Ten years later, it opens back up again, and Moroha and Towa leap back in time — to find Setsuna now has no memory of her twin sister. What happened there? We’re going to know seriously soon — the release date for the first episode has been revealed, and it’s in less than a week. “We can’t wait for both Inuyasha and anime fans of all ages to discover the

Amazon’s Fallout TV Show Arrives This April
Before Bethesda got swallowed by Microsoft to make bland space exploration games, they became world famous for the Fallout series — a set of post-apocalyptic RPGs set in a world where the Cold War of the 50s actually went hot and culture pretty much froze there. You typically play as a survivor emerging from their bunker who must now find ways to survive, beat hideous mutants, and converse with a variety of weird characters. Back in July of 2020 it was announced Amazon was looking into making a Fallout TV show. It’s been a long, loooong wait, but the thing is finally crawling out of the underground next spring — Amazon released a trailer to prove it. The original announcement revealed Westworld‘s Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy were in charge. This is still true and turned out to be good for them, as Westworld would decline and then Zaslav would throw it away like yesterday’s trash. Here are the characters you’ll meet and who’s playing them. No Ron Perlman, sorry:
Akuma Challenges Ryu In Street Fighter Masters
UDON Entertainment, longtime publisher of material about fighters and the streets they prowl, has announced Street Fighter Masters: Akuma Vs Ryu for next February. What’s the most basic setup for a Street Fighter story? Fighting, basically. UDON’s latest SF comic gets down to the essentials with the main point of interest being a match between two of the game’s veteran characters: Ryu and Akuma. The reason they have for doing this has yet to be revealed, but UDON is hyping it up like a pro wrestling announcer: Throughout the history of Street Fighter, this ultimate rivalry has raged! Now, the final fight will reach its epic conclusion! AKUMA! RYU! Both of these tortured World Warriors are now at the peak of their power, weilding unimaginable abilities. When the dust settles on this battle, only one fighter will be able to plant his feet on the Earth to fight another day… Street Fighter Masters: Akuma vs. Ryu #1 (there will only be one) will feature art by Kenneth Loh (G.I Joe,
