Why doesn't Funimation dub Kamen Rider/SS

I've noticed that this debate has mostly boiled down to:

1. Saban has the rights. So is this possible or impossible?

2. The general audience and support for toku. As well as any company's awareness of the fandom. The company making a profit also comes into play.


So, yeah. Wonder where this leaves us. hehehe.

1. Impossible! Unless the contract they made between toei and saban says its possible, which I doubt, someone would've done it by now.

2. Support is crucial for knew toku shows being shown in the states, shows like KRDragon knight! Any toku shows being shown in the states that is besides PR is crucial. Cause the ratings and the sells of the merchandise, however crappy they may be, tells the people that "hey, we want more of these kindah shows!" Instead of just illegally downloading them an what not!

im sorry, but for the life of me, i cannot understand this vague mentality. How is ruining the original? the original still exist and can be seen. People know how good it is and that wont change. Lastly, WHAT reputation??? nobody besides fans knows about the show

It's simple. Power Rangers was the first and the only tokusatsu that was aired here. And people here are really thinking that all tokusatsu are Power Rangers. Plus, awful quality of releases here made them think that Power Rangers can't be good and those who watch it are idiots who can't see obvious flaws.

RPM actually got me watching it again after Mystic Force. If they brought them to do another series, I'd watch it.

But adaptations aren't anything to be afraid about. If people die in Faiz every episode, just say they got "vented" or "sent to the Shadow Realm" or that "they need to go to take a nap". IN Faiz's case, just say "They are in permanent Standby". With proper cutting you can have people die, just not on screen. Sometimes it actually makes the effect of their death far more emotional than if they are chopped up on screen.

In Avatar, Aang was shot with lightning and died on screen. How is live action different? Yu Gi Oh killed many people , they just called it the "Shadow Realm" so gonig by that, YugiOh: Enter the Shadow Realm really means "Enter the Death Games".

All they have to do is up it to TV-PG and they could do alot more.

Wow, isn't that harsh? I don't like those type of people who mindlessly associate one bad show with others of the genre.

Show them GARO, show them something that's FAR different from what they've seen . Show them something that will blow their minds. But don't mention it as a Tokusatsu at all, but a foreign show.

Look....even if funamation was allowed to dub SS and Kamen Rider, it wouldn't be much of a big deal now that Saban is back in business and restart the Power Rangers from scratch and with the possible "_____ Rider" still on shelf. Plus the toy market in Japan and in the US is still asking for more Power Rangers stuff. Not to mention that the stock footages seemed too violent in the U.S. Market hence why they only used a few that had less violence. So in short, not a lot of SS and KR shows will get an English dub any time soon. Only a few specials and other films might be done by other companies.

No chanses for that at all.

About showng them something different - we've been trying. Typical reaction - "Eh, it just Power Rangers, there's no way I'll watch it.". The only group who accepted the fact that it's not the Power Rangers's level after that was anime fandom.
