Who here DOESN'T have an HDTV?

Now you're just shoving your opinions down people's throats. Knock it off. This is a who and why thread, not a who, why, and do it thread.

Uh, I'm not. I'm just talking about the future, that's all. I was just telling a story about future of television, that's all. But, hey, we are to our own each, we have a right to express our opinion, you know?

I understand what you are saying, but as stupid as reality TV shows are, I would rather watch that then watch something as stupid as the Total Drama cartoons.
Seriously? A cartoon of a reality show? Who in their right mind thought this would be successful, and why has it been successful? These are two things that never should have mixed! It's not even interactive! If they made it interactive, maybe to where the viewers decided who gets voted off, MAYBE it would be a little more redeeming.
It's a satire of the whole genre. It's not suppose to make sense.

Uh, IceFish, I just don't think it's a good idea if you're sitting down in front of your computer monitor if you're watching your tv shows, you know? That's what I do everyday. They're now acting like on demand. I can watch anything I want and then hook it up on my HDTV.

It's inevitable. The future of Television is evolving very fast right before your very eyes. We already have internet tv, but it's growing pretty rapidly. There's VIZIO HDTV which provide internet tv. There's HULU PLUS in VIZIO HDTV. Tell me, IceFish, do you still find it a waste of money? Trust me..it's a worth to get it.

Not everybody would agree with what you're saying. Money is money and can be put to better use than just watching TV. If a person has a working TV and is fine with it, then yes, an HDTV is just a waste. Now if it's someone who just wants to always watch TV and is so finicky about the resolution and stuff, then maybe it's worth your money.

Yeah until my TVs break down I won't buy a new one.

Exactly! My 36' inch JVC is working ...still. 10+ yrs old, but working. Can't justify buying an HDTV , even though I want one :169: ..and goddam do sports , especially football, look damn good. Am always jealous when over my brothers on holidays eating and watching games :disappoin

...And the way things work, I'll be forced into it one way or the other sooner or later. Be it the TV breaking or just tech in general. **** will only be made for working on HDTV, you can bet on that.

I have no interest in HD since it offers nothing more than making fake things look more real, it is hilarious.

I would strongly disagree. If your making something fake that's trying to look real, additional clarity works against you, not for you. Think about the famous blurry black and white photograph of Big Foot, or the Loch Ness Monster. They are both fake, but the quality and resolution both help to obscure the image enough that they both appear they could be real. Now if both the photos were in color, by a 10 megapixel camera, they both look fake as ****. Also think of classic tokusatsu shows where that have flying ships guided using thin strings. The higher the definition is, the easier is to see the strings. So no, the lower the res, the more fake things look real.

I am not made out of money and the little amount that I do possess goes to more important and productive interests like books.
