Who here DOESN'T have an HDTV?

It's a satire of the whole genre. It's not suppose to make sense.

But the thing about satire is that it's suppose to be funny. And to me, there is nothing funny about the Total Drama cartoons. Loony Tunes is good satire. Weird Al Yankovic's original songs are good satire. The Total Drama cartoons? Except for small instances (such as all the evil animals), Total Drama makes me feel like I would have more fun watching live action shows.

Uh, IceFish, I just don't think it's a good idea if you're sitting down in front of your computer monitor if you're watching your tv shows, you know? That's what I do everyday. They're now acting like on demand. I can watch anything I want and then hook it up on my HDTV.

It's inevitable. The future of Television is evolving very fast right before your very eyes. We already have internet tv, but it's growing pretty rapidly. There's VIZIO HDTV which provide internet tv. There's HULU PLUS in VIZIO HDTV. Tell me, IceFish, do you still find it a waste of money? Trust me..it's a worth to get it.

Okay, let's get the shallow and needlessly picky thing out of the way first. It's Icefish. The f isn't capitalized.

Yes, I do sit in front of my monitor when I watch TV. Why? Because there are only one or two shows I actually watch, and they're on while I'm at work. Thus, I watch them via streaming or flat out downloads. Adding a TV to that formula just seems needless and unnecessary.

Yes, television is changing at a rapid pace. But that doesn't mean I have to jump on it immediately. I'm not in a position to go spending money on some fancy new TV when I have one that works perfectly fine. So the picture isn't as flashy or fancy as an HDTV. I don't care. I'm not picky about picture quality. Hell, I find Blu-ray to be horribly underwhelming.

Fact of the matter is, no matter what either of us says, we won't convince the other. So let's just agree to disagree and end our discourse here.

I don't. My old Sony WEGA works just fine and has never given me problems.

I have a Sony WEGA as well.:buttrock:

And no I don't have an HDTV cause like everyone else says it works fine, also SDTV last longer then HDTV,I had a Sony SDTV that's 20 years old and it's still works,we gave it to a friend and bought other Current Used 2005 SDTV.

And yes I do have a VCR.

I have this Sony WEGA that was manufactured in August 2002, and I bought it a couple of months later. If these things are supposed to be really good, I must have gotten a crappy model.

Starting around fall of last year, it has been having this problem where you turn it on, and it seems to switch on, but no picture comes in, and then it just shuts off. You'd have to keep trying to switch it on until it actually stays on. Though since last month, it doesn't seem like it'll ever switch on and stay on again. It definitely needs to be repaired, but getting a new TV may be less costly. So that's what I did instead.

If my model is this bad, I shudder to think about how bad an HDTV might turn out to be, if it's said that they don't last as long as standard definition TVs.

That was probably something related to the switch in front of the TV. The SDTV lasting longer than HDTV comparison is based on the picture tube. And it also boils down on how it's being used.

not really. I think walgreens was selling 30-40 inch ones durring the holidays for a couple hundred.

HD is cheap these days.

That's right. You can get a decent sized one for 200-300 dollars. I don't have a TV, so no HD for me. I do watch it, but it's not my TV.

This is a who and why thread, not a who, why, and do it thread.

...And the way things work, I'll be forced into it one way or the other sooner or later. Be it the TV breaking or just tech in general. **** will only be made for working on HDTV, you can bet on that.

Yep, that's exacally how it goes. I remember back in the VHS days everyone was **** talking DVDs, and now look. Same thing will happen for Blu-ray and most prolly 3D aswell.

lol....Your serious?

He is. If that's what he likes he can.

@FK - check this

Thanks. But I find myself being too lazy to actually press the space bar in between the two words.

Same here. Once in awhile I will watch a VHS for the **** of it.

I just got a new TV yesterday, its a 46" 720p plasma. Upgraded from a 27" sdtv. Nothing wrong with the old one but I've had a Blu-ray and a HDdvd player for over a year now plus I have around 75 blus & 40 HDdvds now. I would have have bought one sooner but i spend a good chunk of change on dvds.

Ohh i rock a 24" CRT
