Which begs the question why do people post stuff like this? Don't get me wrong, this is terrible, and it really repulses me, but it really is an everyday type of thing with racism, at least in my city. Whether it be blacks, hispanics, etc... If someone made a thread every time there was a a racial related murder or issue in my city, HJU would be flooded page, after page, after page.

Personally, I wish they'd fry the bastard, just to make an example out of him.

That's... not really true. A lot of African Americans were unfortunate targets of lethal violence dating back to the 50s and 60s, culminating in the indignance that spurred the Civil Rights movement that took place throughout both decades. This was at a time when groups like the Klu Klux Klan and other intolerant assemblies considered themselves ethnically superior and viewed other races, especially blacks, with an attitude of hostile self-righteousness. Attitudes like this tragically persist in the the contemporary world, although not as openly now that it's, fortunately, widely though to be socially unacceptable to display racist tendencies. It's outlier cases like this, where a crime is perpetrated without real intent or reason other than ignorance and senseless hatred, that cause you to worry.

Are you out of your mind? This kind of thing has been going on for decades. The thing about the 50's since you brought it up is this.... Back then a black man getting murdered wasn't news.

Excuse my ignorance on the subject then guys. I didn't mean to say it was rare or anything, plus I know about the KKK and such. It's that as you said Bolt it is now for the most part socially unacceptable, so to me I've been somewhat oblivious to hate murders up until now.

I guess we should consider that a step in the right direction. A short, stumbling step on a thousand mile journey, but progress is progress.

2. Racism is never over. You will always have that percentage of people that don't like black people or feel they have to save their "Race" by killing other races off.

3. Hate crimes are always going on in some form or fashion. Mexicans, Latinos, Blacks, Jews. High School, College, anywhere. It's never talked about just like certain crimes and violence in communities.
