Voltron-Defender of the Universe!

Voltrex needed refinement but was at least in the right general ballpark for "let's make a Voltron variation." I just don't know what the hell they were thinking with Stealth Voltron or this new rumored thing. (Well, beyond "Transformers made lots of money!")

The original dub/edit of Voltron is great. The dub gives the whole thing a solid plot and fairly likable characters. The soundtrack is an enormous improvement over Go Lion's. The writing is kind of wacky but still better than, say, the Filmation shows of the day.

Go Lion itself was just a horribly amateurish knockoff of better shows that were out at the time. Even Baldios was interesting enough to spawn the Heika meme, but Go Lion is just non-stop boredom and recycled ideas. Even most the attacks are just taken more or less from God Sigma.

This **** makes the Michael Bay Transformers look like a masterpeace

Seconded.

I was like O_O when I saw the art. It came nothing out of Voltron! If the trailer looks impressive or they retained some of the show's cheesy lines, I might watch it... on bootleg DVD's. I learn my lesson from Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen.

I actually like Stealth Voltron, but I admit trying to make the parts into lions was a mistake. If the parts were made into stealth space craft I think the design would be more fondly remembered.

Voltron never aired in Canada...so I have no idea how good this show is, is it good?

The show was good, I grew up watching it.

That pic on the other hand... :redface2:

If you're going to mess with the Voltron design, why not add just a little something that could be a mane (on the individual lions)? I, for one, will never be satisfied until Voltron (the mecha) is made live-action zord-style (no CGI).

In Japan, Golion is not at all well-known (even less so than God Sigma!), so it's still astonishing that something unpopular there is famous here, as opposed to the Force Five series featuring vastly superior shows (with the music and sound FX mostly intact, no less!).

You know, sometimes I feel like things that are popular in Japan aren't always as popular over here and vice versa.
