These 2 stores near where I live ( well not near-near, but within driving distance) are the only places that I Know which sells Kamen rider / toku related stuff, and the charge like a god-damn mother b@#$% =( every figuart is almost double or 50% more than what they list on AmiAmi, and one of them even "orders" from AmiAmi and sells the items for double the price.... I know there's sometimes customs and whatnot, but for every item ?! Its just plain robbery.

That why I just resort to online shopping now, since most of the things I want I can only get online and I can get it for a cheaper price. Saves me more $$$ for food and other toys ~ So don't believe in that support your own local economy B.S., doesn't work for me in my case. >.<

Agreed. I can get 2-3 Figuarts myself for their price of one. :redface2: But obviously, their target and ideal customers are not us -- but those who do not have the means to buy things themselves and/or do not know the true cost of the items they're buying.

While I would be sad if one day these shops closed down, I'd have to agree... stuff like "customer loyalty" and "supporting your local shops" is BS to me as well. Money speaks for itself and if you can get 2-3 figures yourself instead of just one from them, so be it. I'll send my money straight to Japan. =/

IMO, the only thing that's really worth buying from local anime shops are Gundam Kits...because the shipping costs will usually bump it to around the same price as getting it online anyways...due to the fact that they do come in big boxes

Agreed. Or if there's a local convention I get to bargain it down or buy shitloads for a cheaper price, even cheaper than that of Ami Ami or HLJ sometimes @_@

But even those stores just order it themselves from Hobby Search or Hobby Stock in bulk and sell it for a higher prices themselves to begin with..... =_+
