Can We Talk About the Insane Stunts in "John Wick"?

I recently rewatched the "John Wick" series, and I can't get over how breathtaking the stunts are! The choreography is just on another level. Those fight scenes are a masterclass in blending martial arts with gunplay.

Take the fight in the house made of glass in "John Wick: Chapter 2", the way they use the environment and the fluid transitions between hand-to-hand combat and gunplay is straight-up poetry in motion! And let's not forget the knife fight scene with the amazing choreography and heft they give to every strike.

It's incredible how the stunt team made everything look so visceral and real, especially with Keanu Reeves doing so many of his own stunts. I feel like "John Wick" has set a new standard for action cinema. What do you all think? Are there any particular stunts or scenes from the series that blew your mind? Also, how do you think this impacts the future of action films?

The stunts in the "John Wick" series are absolutely insane, and I couldn’t agree more about the glass house fight! It’s such a unique setting that really elevates the stakes. The choreography is so tight, and like you mentioned, the seamless transitions between martial arts and gunplay make each scene feel like a dance of death.

I’m particularly in awe of the way they use physicality to tell the story. That knife fight you brought up is just brutal yet beautiful at the same time. Keanu's commitment to performing his own stunts definitely adds an authenticity that’s hard to replicate.

I think "John Wick" has really raised the bar for action films moving forward. With "John Wick 5" on the horizon, I’m curious about how they'll top themselves. Do you think they’ll continue to innovate with environments and choreography, or could they risk falling into routine?

The glass house fight in Chapter 2 is insane, the way they smash through everything while switching from punches to shooting feels so smooth. Keanu really puts in the work doing most of his own stuff. It makes the action feel heavy and real instead of fake. I think this series pushed other movies to step up their fight scenes. The knife fight was also super clean, every move had weight. Action films after this look better because of it.

Those John Wick fight scenes never get old. The glass house sequence is my top one, everything flows so well from close combat to guns. The choreography is tight and the hits look solid. Seeing Keanu perform most of it makes it even better. The knife fight is another highlight with its intensity. This series definitely influenced how action is done now. More movies should copy this attention to real movement.
