Spring Kamen Rider Movie - Kurata Returns!

Ha I my predictions are true from that speculation thread about this movie. Nice to see Faiz back and it just occurred to me that we aren't getting a Rideron and Tridoron scene. Or at least the probability is low since Rider 3 will be doing the racing with Drive.

Defeat the other Riders? Yeah good luck with that Shinnosuke.

Sadly, he seems to be doing a good job at it.
But I think they're letting him win since he's actually a good guy in disguise and this is all a plot against Shocker.
Because you know, Shocker would trust a normally good Rider, who's also a police officer, being evil all of a sudden.
I mean, it just makes perfect sense.

And I don't get the whole altered timeline thing.
Because the other Riders are clearly good, and only Drive, his side characters, and I think Leangle are evil.
And given Kotaro's speech, it's not like the concept of Kamen Rider stopped existing or was lost like in Let's Go Kamen Rider.

Also, does it bother anyone that the audio for Drive yelling out Kiriko's name clips really badly?
I actually thought my comp blue screened when he held that "O" sound.
Seems pretty unprofessional if you ask me since I can recall other yelling scenes in past Rider shows/movies that were loud but didn't noticeably clip the audio.

They made a car for #3. They probably can't re-create Rideron due to budget. If it was me, I would've remade Rideron and gave #3 a modified Cyclone.

Oh hell no.

I think that's exactly it though. In this altered timeline, Shocker is the government, so people who worked for the government (or organizations in the case of the Blade crew) originally now are working for Shocker.

If that's true, then that's kinda lame.
Wasn't Shocker already this big terrorist organization that could do pretty much anything they wanted without any government stopping them?
The only thing worthwhile they have in this altered timeline is Drive, who'll obviously turn good and Sango, who I think will also turn good by the end.
And controlling the government doesn't do much in terms of serving a threat to the Riders.
Oh no, they're going to drown us in national debt and terrible bureaucracy!

Unless they reveal anything big, it seems like this whole altered timeline thing was slapped together cause they needed an excuse to make Drive "evil", and of course, have the time honored tradition of Riders beating the **** out of each other.

Another thing that's bugging me is that Drive is evil in this movie and Kotaro's speech about being a Rider seemed to be directed at Drive.
And the whole Kiriko falling off the building seems to imply that that's the moment Drive becomes good again.
Shouldn't they have done this for Sango instead?
It'd make perfect sense if it was Sango that slowly learns what it means to be a true Rider, instead of Drive, who's already a proper Rider in his own show.
They could have easily dropped the whole Shocker plot, and replaced it with a more human focus on Sango.
Like they could have made him follow orders of Shocker past and he hunts all the past Riders.
But then he gets this movie only companion who makes him grow past his Shocker brainwashing and learn what it means to be a Rider.
Hell this didn't even have to be a massive Rider crossover movie with random Sentai thrown into it.
I just made that up in 3 minutes and it already sounds better than what we're supposedly getting.

It means that Shocker basically controls the world, with their soldiers marching on the streets and such, and obviously they still have their usual armies of monsters and such. They always intended to control the world, so I don't get why you think this is odd.

It's repetitive, since it seems to be retreading Let's Go Kamen Riders, which had a similar concept (alternate timeline where Shocker conquered the world), but this one seems to have a "Shocker vs Rebels" take and initially the protagonists are with Shocker, so it might end up a fairly different experience.

A previous trailer showed V3 seemingly saying something to Rider 3 while they fought. There's also an older picture with Rider 1 talking with him (in a place different from the one where he's defeated). I guess Rider 3's equivalents of those scenes will be mostly with suit-only Riders.

I think it's odd because I know they won't really show the effects of Shocker taking over the world save for shots of the army marching pass world landmarks like the Eiffel Tower for example.
The movie will probably only show the conflict in Japan, which is what the focus on Shocker was mostly at.
So from that point of view, not only is it repetitive, it's also pretty pointless to make it a main plot point in the movie.
Because again, it's just Shocker running amok in Japan but now with some window dressing to make it look like they are a big deal by taking over the world, which they will probably not show in great focus or detail.
It'd have more impact if they showed other Riders fighting Shocker troops in other parts of the world instead of solely in Japan.
And I get the budget and filming restraints prevent them from doing that, and Toei should have know too, so it just makes this whole Shocker plot all the more pointless and shoved down our throats.

The problem with that is Sango's development is only through in suit, replacement VA only Riders while Drive gets actual characters and returning Riders to help him.
The focus is completely backwards, especially given how much promotion Sango is getting and the fact that he really needs that development as a character.
And I get it, Drive is the current Rider so it makes sense he gets more focus.
At the same time though, his movie character arc is utterly pointless given how he's already an established Rider and a cop for crying out loud!

For Sango, he probably couldn't carry a solo movie, which makes sense, and the problem is that the only characters he could connect to will probably never come back to reprise their roles.
To me, they brought up Sango too late.
They should have done this movie during Gaim's run since the show always blurred the lines of what a Rider was.
So it'd make more sense for Kouta to team with Sango instead.
Plus they somehow got back Ichigo's actor for HvS, so instead of HvS, they could have just made this movie instead.
But they'd still probably ruin the movie since I bet they would have stuck with the whole altered timeline plot point.

My excitement is dead. Like last year, the saving grace of this movie is the returning actors. Unlike last year, that alone might not be enough to save it, because there are still some key characters that are missing their originals (Double Riders and/or V3). The scenes in which they get "defeated" are going to be painful to watch.

And I think we can already tell which scenes they are: the confrontation with Rider 1 is immediately after episode 98 and the confrontation with V3 is that scene they've kept showing in the trailers in which Rider 3 seemingly squashes him and Riderman.

This isn't new. When you look back at nearly all Toku series, all these world-threatening organizations always seem to focus on Japan for no apparent reason. In Rider history, they have always given mentions to them being in other parts of the world, but never too prominently.
