Ressha Sentai ToQger Ep 13 "Run Fire Extinguisher"

On the other hand, I can't help but notice how incredibly useless Kagura was in this episode. I'm still amazed people actually like her character enough to make a ton of fanarts about her in pixiv.

Kagura has shown how she can be useful. Her whole gimmick of using her imagination to make her incredibly invested (and good) at the things she's imagining is quite fun and a change from the usual "you just have to believe in yourself" routine we usually see for this type of character.

Besides that, she's the cutesy/clumsy character. Of course she's popular.

She's popular with Japanese fans, anyway. I still see a lot of hate for her around the English-speaking fandom. It still puzzles me why people will gush over Houka, Natsuki and Candelira yet hate on Kagura and the only reason I can come up with is "she doesn't look mature enough for them to find her attractive." Which is just sad.

I think Kagura's a good example for young kids of finding a way to overcome your fears. I wish Toei didn't think she had to be so cutesy to appeal to the audience, but she's still a positive example.

It's not "odd" and it's not "good", it's wrong. Pairing a child character with an adult character is always wrong, even if they're not human (Looking at you, Mezul/Gamel fans!)

So far, the majority of the villain "plot" is based around Gritta and which of two inappropriately old men she's going to hook up with. That's not plot, it's just ... soap opera? It has the potential to become plot by shaping the characters' motivations, but currently, it isn't plot
Well, there's also Z's obsession with shining things, and Right by extension, and the question of why he's like that despite needing Darkness to survive and being in charge of the Shadow Line. I see a lot of potential in how those elements may develop in the future. There's also Nero and Noire constantly plotting against each other and trying to ensure that they're not the first General that ends up as an "example" of how the Emperor does not tolerate those useless to him.

While I actually do like Kagura, I can see why others wouldn't. Ai Moritaka's performance and Kagura's "imagination" gimmick could turn some people off and, honestly, after the first episode I can't say those traits made me very fond of her. Though Kagura did quickly grow on me after after a few episodes :).

I don't know how 'adult' Z is. I mean, sure he's played by an adult, but he's very much a kid who is just discovering the world for the first time.

That's just pathetic, and hopefully not all that true.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Fourze's Fire States yet :P

When Right was pressing the Fire Ressha's button I saw a ToQ6 logo.

.....which can also be seen on all the other Ressha's panel, including Red Ressha's panel.

We've seen it already on previous episodes.
