Least favorite KR season

Sash, you really don't know who that "one person" is that hates Kuuga? :sly:

You don't even notice the flame wars in the other threads in the past whenever that "one person" starts ranting about how much Kuuga sucks while evry1 jumps on top of that person's ass over their "claims."

It's an elementary fact that 90% of the HJU forum knows that ______ hates Kuuga (I won't reveal who it is since you're the only one that still doesn't know yet :P :loltongue: )

You mean the guy who's name is based from a sci-fi movie which makes you choose between 2 pills?

The Kuuga thing reminds me of this thread. And that was 2008!

But you know, even if they're held up as shining examples now, Kuuga and Agito were themselves once thrown under the bus on a far more regular basis, as was Ryuki, Shin, BLACK RX, Skyrider, etc. I remember one of the big complaints of Kuuga being the lack of real on-site explosions- does anybody care about that now? Does anyone mind that Kuuga has so many bikes (and yes, people did count Rising BeatGouram and the TryChaser color-changes as different bikes once.) Does anyone still fast-forward through the plot scenes in Kuuga and Agito to get to the fightin'? That's fandom's changing attitudes for you. Almost every Rider has undergone some kind of reevaluation/re-appreciation since they debuted. Which is probably why I find it hard to pick a least favorite, I'm always thinking "Well actually, I did like that when..."

Oh Iga, your knowledge reaches back so far....

I'm surprised people didn't like Kuuga's lack of explosions. Kinda weird, but times change.

Yeah, nowadays people appreciate the fact that there wasn't much SFX back in Kuuga since in the case of recent Riders, we always get some kind of SFX galore with SFX Kaijins battling SFX trains/castles/bikes/etc.

It's already happened with Hibiki as well.........considering there is some glimmering support from the fandom now over Hibiki as a Rider series, even though it was most likely bashed whole-heartedly in the past for not looking or resembling any element of Kamen Rider in the Hibiki series.

I feel the same re-evaluation/re-appreciation will happen with Kamen Rider Decade as well within the next 5-6 years or so. Decade had a lot of shitty plotholes and inconsistencies that turned a lot of "core Rider fans" off.................but I feel what Decade gave us in terms of "crossovers" between past & present Riders, as well as between Riders & Sentai, etc. will be given a sense of re-appreciation in the future when new Rider fans re-evaluate the Decade series themselves in the order of the series and movies, which the current Rider fandom didn't have the opportunity to do so.

I thought the lack of SFX was a blessing in disguise, as it forced them to rely on what they could do within the realm of possibility. It worked magnificently.

Kuuga had bike stunt actors. Do they still that now? Or do Takaiwa/Eitoku do it now?

I guess sometimes, when you see something really bad now, you tend to lose the bad taste left by a past bad series.

Yep. We call that Beast Machines Syndrome. :) Iga's right on the money.

Y'know, I still hold that Decade had far fewer plotholes than what I've seen of Heisei so far (which would be all of Den-O, Decade, Kabuto, and 5-10 eps of the others each save Hibiki). It's just that what few plotholes it had were bigger and closer to the fandom's hearts. :)

Kabuto, for example, averages 2-3 plotholes per episode.
