Kamen Rider Decade, was it a complete disappointment?

I loved Decade as a show and still do but I do agree that it had its faults. I loved the idea of the group visiting alternate worlds of the past Riders. It gave you a fresh take on things. But it was too short and some of the stuff in the show felt rushed. I still criticize the ending of the show but praise the crossover with Shinkenger. There were great special effects and a lot of the fights were cool (Faiz Accel vs TheBee, Kuuga forms vs Den-O forms). I thought the All Riders vs DaiShocker movie was pretty cool too. I wish I could say the same for the Rider Wars film. It didn't connect much with the ending of Episode 32. Toei had to go back and fix that but still, that showed how much they didn't prepare for it. All in all, it was a good ride and I enjoyed what I saw.

I liked it. Still a shitload of missing ends. Dark Decade never appeared like he was supposed to. Tsukasa never fought himself. DiEnd was too shallow of a character. It was never explained who Narutaki was, or why Eijiro could become Ikadevil.

Blame the staff.

I like to think of Narutuki as the J Jonah Jameson of Kamen Rider.

To me, Narutaki was the most pathetic villian in the KR series. Especially where he blames Decade for everything, including making him the scapegoat for the damage he cost. It would have been great if they did showed his past, though I heard that the reason why is because Tsukasa destroyed his world when he was Dai-Shocker's leader. However the height of his patheticness was when he joined Super Shocker as Col. Zol. Which even Tsukasa called him out on.

If he had more dimensions like both Ryubee Sonazaki & Dr. Maki, I could see him as a real threat at the same time feel sympathy.

Christ, I didn't even finish Decade and it made me swear off new Heisei Rider shows entirely until the overwhelming positive reaction to W got me to crawl back like an abused housewife. To be fair, it wasn't just Decade's fault. Kabuto's botched second half, Den-O's dull, plodding pace, and Kiva's awfulness instilled a lot of hate towards the modern rider series in me and Decade was just the horrific mess of a straw that broke the camel's back, as it were.

God bless W for being SO GOOD.

Narutuki had the potential to be an interesting villian, but in the end he just came off as a super creepy stalker.

Narutaki didn't even have to be a villain. He could have been just a complex character who got caught on on the details and failed to see the bigger pictures, which was Decade's and the original Riders' plan.

I actually liked that Narutaki in All Riders. First he was given vindication when Decade trulled f***ed all up by practically handing all the worlds to Dai-Shocker. But then they show him realizing that Decade was actually needed in order to effectively fight off Dai-Shocker. Despite his short appearance in All Riders, during it Narutaki actually acted as a character and no an annoying plot device.

Decade was the first Kamen Rider that I tried to begin watching (after Shinkenger rekindled my interest in Toei's toku shows), and I gave up the show around the Ryuki episodes. However, for some reason I started watching W, and I was hooked. Now I'm watching OOO in addition to some Kabuto, Kuuga, and I'm contemplating getting into some of the Showa Rider shows like Black. If not for W, I may not have given other series a try.

After watching Decade twice i'm still on the fence but lean more toward decent, but Narutaki seemed to be just there...Sad though

EDIT: Also, finished W and will start on OOO and Fourze together
