I havent said he's not a nice guy, indeed. I said that a guy whom people keeps tellin "look, that "onore Decade" meme you keep sayin every 3 post is annoyin because you overused it", and answers "I like it I'll keep usin it and you cant do anything about it" is actin like a child. the same way his post are often childish, at least this is the impression that gave me. I never said he's a bad guy once. As you yourself said, "call it what you want", about his way of expressin himself. I call it childish.

Next to nothing in the grand scheme of things. A typical translator's fee works out to $.10 per word or less.

If Toei is choosing not to include English subs on its DVDs, it's for some reason besides cost.

Another possible reason is to reduce the risk of reverse importation. Digital media in Japan is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than in the US, and the appeal of reverse importation becomes significantly greater for Blu-Ray, since the US and Japan share the same region encode for that format.

Oh yes. Reverse-import wackiness has caused huge headaches for Gundam fans over the years. First the Gundam '79 DVDs were dub-only, now Gundam Unicorn is coming out here for approximately $35 to $50 per single-episode Blu-Ray disc.

That said, the Toei DVDs we're talking about are R2s, so I don't know why they'd be leaving off subs for reverse-import reasons. It would only make sense if they were leaving subs off to discourage Southeast Asian or North American importers.

Discouraging Southeast Asian imports kind of makes sense, since Toei actively licenses Kamen Rider and Super Sentai in those territories. Probably for more than any North American licensee would give them, too.
