Happy Birthday, Shotaro Ishinomori!

I really wanted a live-action Cyborg 009... :disappoin
I've read somewhere that Ishinomori toyed around with the idea of making Goranger something akin to that at first, then something about how the idea evolved into a Mission Impossible-like backdrop.

Same here. That is why I am hoping that it is the Ishinomori title that Hollywood decides to adapt considering that it is too advance for its time and its multiracial.

Trust me they would find some way to screw it up. 009 will be probably be race-bended white and the other characters of color would be pushed to the fringes of obscurity.

However, if a great director got his hands on it and kept the story and multiracial/international character intact, it could be the next RED. Why I'm saying that is due to the fact RED is basically how 009 would be done, albeit with cyborgs and slightly grounded abilities or made believable(disbelief).

I'm glad Ishi didn't make one as it would turn out like the Astro Boy live action series in the late 50's (That series is why we got the famous anime because Osamu Tezuka was thoroughly disappointed and started his first company Mushi) , thus looking overly goofy and horrible. If he did make one, he would probably get help from Hollywood or one of the TV show companies to make it a reality. But that is thoroughly unrealistic as he wasn't as well known as his contemporary Tezuka.

I hope however that Kamen Rider isn't chosen because I want to do my take on it plus it won't because it would have to be Adness. ( which hasn't shown any indication to make a film)

Happy Birthday, Ishinomori-sensei.

If he were alive today, do you think he would enjoy the way things are now? Sure, Kamen Rider has too much Den-O, and maybe Sentai isn't as serious now as it was back then, but there is still a lot of love for those things and all the other things he had a hand in making.
