is there really muh point in having 2 separate threads for this?

I gotta agree with one of the posts in the other thread: This episode is so much different in general cinematographic feel from the first 3. Having not seen the first couple of seasons, I wonder if this is more in line with those.

The look reminds me of those serious Japanese films, but with a slice of horror and toku. Honestly, the first film I thought of was Hiroko Sato's film A Night in Nude: Salvation.

I like the unusual use of 1st person POV shots in this ep as well as the reuse of that particular pose of people kinda doing the Spiderman upside-down kiss on the floor (4 times in fact). I will need to read subs to see if it ties in to the episode. This episode did well to build up my interest on the overall plot.

The bar fight scene had the most bone-crunchng blows and hits I have ever seen in toku. And I have a soft spot for badass women putting scummy dbags in their rightful place.

I like that the Horror is still on the loose.

I still like Ryuuga more and more each ep.

I still have no problems whatsoever with this season so far.

A bit of an aside, but I've chanced upon clips of that movie and I'm wondering what exactly was Sato's character? Is she insane? Manipulative? Or just a plain victim of abuse?

I think a little bit of everything. During the story itself though, it's her manipulative-ness that comes into view the most. She played both the victim card and the seduction card, the latter to the extreme.

[HIDE]So was she the murderer, or a murderer, and hired that detective as a cover? Is she, along with those other women (her sisters? Superiors?) a prostitute in that brothel? Are the owners their parents? I've tried looking up info on this movie and haven't come up with more than brief synopses and reviews. I figured that self-flagulation scene at the end showed her ill state of mind.[/HIDE]
