Why would Yamaki be hostile to any Chosen-type children after his character development.

No reason other than that his character during the first half of Tamer fits Narutaki very well, also it was for more interesting

They're VERY canonically to the first seasons. They explain what happened with the firewall and Apocalymon's release, and they show Ryo recreating and hiding all the digimentals for the 02 kids. It also show's how Cyberdramon was made from an Monodromon and Milleniummon, among other things. If you can get them from ebay or somewhere, I HIGHLY recommend them, they're really fun, especially if you have connectability with a D3 or DTerminal.

Actually, it's not a coincidence. Adventure and 02 are REALLY connected with Ryo of the Wonderswan games, as well as Tamers. Ken was also in the Wonderswan games back when he was a kid, and Milleniummon too when the two of them defeated him. Ryo also originally had a Veemon.

The reason why Ryo was in Tamers was from the Wonderswan games. He was given a choice to return to his old world, where Taichi and the others resides, or to a new one. Because of his GREAT mistrust in Taichi and the past Chosen Children for being used, he ran away to the Tamers world.

pretty much

Ryo is the only connection between the series
