"Digimon Around"-A New Series?

Yep, you read that right, rumors and "unconfirmed" listings are currently floating around for a new Digimon series reportably titled "デジモン-アラウンド" or "Digimon Around".

Obviously all of this is 'as we know it thus far' and could change.

The title of the new series is Digimon Around. (Figure I should put this here since I thought of it, it's always possible it could be a one off movie or special, ala X-Evolution. All info most definitely points to a SERIES, but nice to cover the bases.)

It will begin airing in the spring.

The normal timeslot Digimon has is currently taken by Dragon Ball Kai. It could mean any of the following: Kai will take a break, Kai will move timeslots, Digimon will get a new timeslot, or other options I'm not thinking of at the moment.

It appears a DS and Wii game will come out while the show is airing. These games MAY be connected to the anime in some way.

The show will likely be announced at Jump Festa, or an upcoming issue of V-Jump.

One of those sites that list info on upcoming anime does indeed have Digimon Around listed, which confirms earlier information. (http://fukuani.hp.infoseek.co.jp/fukuani_shinban.html)

The info thus far gives us enough information to 'generally' say, that YES a new show is in fact coming, and it isn't a rumor.

But it is always nice to lean a little bit on the side of 'maybe not' until we get an official announcement.

Update 1: A few listing sites removed the Around listing, and one added a message apologizing.

Not cause the news isn't true, but because the gun was jumped on putting it up, because it still is effectively at the level of 'rumor' and not 'confirmed', and the listing sites don't post this sort of thing until it's confirmed.

So there you have it, we might get another Digimon series soon. The question is what direction will it take? (If you're wondering, they're currently celebrating the tenth anniversary of Digimon Adventure (Season One) [1999-2009] in Japan, currently [such as a rerelease of "Butterfly" and other general Digimon "anniversary" merchandise], so take that what you will.)

And what exactly does "Around" (if it translates to that) refer to?

Ugh. Even if it is not in the continuity from season 1 and 2, then I won't watch it.

I didn't like season 5 at all. I also didn't like the way they did with Agumon. It's like he's a different digimon... ugh.

I loved season1. I LOVED LOVED season 2. Season 3 was meh. Frontier was lame IMO, and savers were a train wreck.

Anyways, I wouldn't mind checking this out if it's true. I like Digimon season 1-3, and even Frontier. I wasn't too interesting in Savers, so I hope this turns out good.
