Why are people assuming this is going to be like Go-Onger and Goseiger (other than refusal to take the show seriously because of the designs?)

Since getting Hikasa on board for Goseiger required them to meddle with the show halfway through to improve toy sales, I'm crossing my fingers he won't be on board for this one

At least the actual Megazord suit doesn't look as bad as the drawings made it seem.

And that's really the only good thing I can find from this series pre-release stuff, that the megazord isn't as bad as I first though...

Yeah I was just looking at that photo and thinking "are they...rotating their arms doing train impressions? They ARE! THEY REALLY ARE!" When this show comes out, I want someone to take all these kinds of motions and put them into a youtube clip with a disco soundtrack :laugh:

The suits have grown on me a bit, at least from the neck down. I'm actually liking the helmets less and less. They're just too squared off and simple. To me the helmets are the most important part of a Sentai's costume, and these are just boring. Having said that, there's plenty of suit designs I dislike that nevertheless turned out to be enjoyable shows, so I'm still hopeful.

It's just the trend of recent years.
Go-Onger is generally disliked, Shinkenger is generally liked.
Goseiger is generally disliked, Gokaiger is generally liked.
Go-Busters is generally disliked, Kyoryuger is generally liked.

I know there are exceptions to those generalisations - Gokaiger especially is getting re-examined and people are reallising there's not really much there once you remove the nostalgic fanservice. And personally I've never found Go-Onger, Goseiger or Go-Busters to be as awful as other people did. But yeah, Sentai is flipping back to the 'generally disliked' side with Tokkyuger, and everyone's reacting bang on trend so far. Look forward to 2015, when they once again have to produce something that will steady the rocking boat of the franchise. :sweat:

No, they're bitching and whining that the show didn't live up to the expectations they had while it was on the air. People have been a lot harsher about Shinkenger in recent years too, while a lot of Go-onger and Goseiger's rabid hatedoms seem to have moved on to complaining about Gokaiger and Go-Busters. And I bet that in a year or two Kyoryu will be getting heat, especially with recent spoilers concerning Daigo. TL;DR - A lot of people just look for anything to bitch about.

I know Hikasa was retired midway into Goseiger.

EH?! I thought Go-Busters was generally liked? I don't see people complaining about it much, unlike Goseiger and Go-Onger, where there were PLENTY of complains. Gokaiger - Kyoryuger were great to me, at least. XD

Go-busters was generally liked? Did you check the General Discussion forum when Go-busters was out? There were far more people who hate that series than like it, and it wasn't even close.
