Most management sim games are aimed at an adult audience, with dozens of complex decisions weighing on the player every second. If you’d like to get your kids into the genre, there aren’t many “light” examples out there — but publisher NACON and developer Piece of Cake Studios aim to change that. This fall they’re releasing My Fantastic Ranch, an entry-level management game, on modern devices.
Before there was Spider-Man or Batman there was Zorro, the original masked hero. He’s been around a long time and there’s still some debate about whether he’s public domain or not. We won’t get into that here, but we WILL tell you he’s the center of a new game coming this summer.
Take the American sport of football, transport it far, far away from America — or anything resembling reality — and what do you get? The fantasy sport where creatures great and small, pretty and ugly, stinky and foul…all smash on the field to be the winning team. It’s Blood Bowl, and the blood will fly!

We wrote quite a few newspieces on The Sinking City, the Lovecraftian detective game from Frogwares Studios and what was then called Bigben Interactive. The game’s publisher has since changed its name to NACON, and is now under fire from Frogwares, being accused of a breach of contract among other things. Caught in the middle: the game, which has been removed from most digital markets.

It’s been a long wait, but we’ve been seeing more and more of it lately and there’s a good shot that we’ll actually get to play the game before the current year is through.
