There was once a time when we’d hear about the next GTA almost immediately after the release of the last one. There was once a console that got to enjoy three GTA games in one generation. Unfortunately that was the PS2, all the way back in the early 2000s. Nowadays the money isn’t in sequels, it’s in keeping the present game going into infinity through services like GTA Online.
Since launching in 2013, Grand Theft Auto Online has gone from charming GTA multiplayer add-on to money-making juggernaut, netting Rockstar and publisher Take-Two Interactive hundreds of millions of dollars.
Leslie Benzies, former president of Rockstar North and mastermind of GTA Online, has announced his own GTA-killer (in theory) to be created by his own studio. It’s titled Everywhere, and is supposed to contain…..everything. GTA Online was vastly successful, if a bit limited in scope. But with Everywhere, Benzies is trying to deliver the ultimate open-world game — one in which literally anything is possible.
GTA Online is a massive hit for Rockstar, and as such, they have been doing their best to continually update the game so people will continue to play it. Today, they announced the biggest expansion yet, via the from of “Further Adventures in Finance and Felony”.
GTA Online has launched a new mode in celebration Valentine’s Day. In true GTA form though, it’s not your typical affair, it’s one perfectly suited to the game.
Rockstar Games officially revealed this week that the new GTA Online update, Lowriders, arrives on Tuesday, October 20 and released new details and a preview for the update. You can check out the new trailer for Lowriders below.
While Rockstar have done an excellent job of keeping Grand Theft Auto V fresh and updated with a variety of new content since it was released, it has failed to deliver on a request from many fans who want story-based DLC. The studio even teased news about story mode content in April, leading many fans to believe that new missions were on the way. However, that DLC never arrived and it now appears that the game might never see any additional content focused on the story.
GTA Online is getting a big update on September 15th across all versions. Because a new event mode is being added to the gameplay, Freemode Events.
