GTA Online, Red Dead Online Celebrate Record-Breaking Month
There was once a time when we’d hear about the next GTA almost immediately after the release of the last one. There was once a console that got to enjoy three GTA games in one generation. Unfortunately that was the PS2, all the way back in the early 2000s. Nowadays the money isn’t in sequels, it’s in keeping the present game going into infinity through services like GTA Online.
Rockstar had a record-breaking holiday season in both GTA Online and Red Dead Online, and they’re celebrating with some big bonuses for players. Starting now and lasting through February 5, it’s possible to earn 1,000,000 GTA Bucks, and the following week, you can earn another million. There’s also a swanky new car — the Albany V-STR, and Double Rewards in Target Assault, Motor Wars and Deadline.
Meanwhile, in Red Dead Online, you can pick up great gifts free of charge, including the Schofield Revolver, Varmint Rifle and the Devastating Ammo Bundle. The Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue has also been updated with the return of popular items like the Raccoon and Cossack Hats, plus discounts on other items.
Maybe we’ll hear about GTA 6 once the Playstation 5 and XBox Generic Confusing Name X launch. I figure the only thing that could end GTA 5 at this point is the game literally becoming obsolete. The profits from GTA Online just won’t stop coming, and now that Red Dead Online has joined it, I’d expect a new Red Dead sometime ’round 2045.
GTA Online and Red Dead Online are playable now on Playstation 4, XBox One and PC.
