Bacon Soda, or Have We Reached a Bacon Moratorium?

Jones Soda is always releasing interesting and unusual soda flavors, however, today the company introduced a bacon-flavored soda. Which begs the question — have we reached the point in our bacon-loving culture that has gone too far? I’m all for eating bacon, but bacon soda?

The pig-flavored brew was created in partnership with J&D’s Foods (a Seattle company that has cornered the market on bacon-flavored novelty food items). For a mere $10 you’ll get a bacon-themed gift pack: two bottles of soda, bacon salt, bacon gravy, bacon popcorn and bacon lip balm.

Bacon soda, really. Though I haven’t tried it, and I’ll reserve judgement until I do, it seems to me that bacon soda is the last straw until we get bacon smoked bacon. Yo dawg, I heard you like bacon on your bacon. [via Whitney]
