Back in October, news broke that Blood Diamond star Djimon Hounsou would be starring in the upcoming film Elephant White, and now, the film has a director. According to THR, Thai director Prachya Pinkaew, who directed Ong Bak and Chocolate, will make his English-language directorial debut with the film, which also stars Kevin Bacon. Based on a script by Kevin Bernhardt, the film stars Hounsou as a mercenary whose old friend (Bacon) poses an allegiance that can’t be trusted. Filming begins shooting in Thailand next month, but in the meantime, audiences can expect to next see Hounsou (pictured above) in The Tempest, which co-stars Helen Mirren and Russell Brand and will be released next year. Stay tuned for more updates on this one.

Sounds it has a chance to be good. I'm glad Prachya Pinkaew is getting more recognition out there.
