We Miss Double (W) Thread

You're way off my mark! I didn't say the police didn't know about the existence of Kamen Riders but that they didn't know who they were so there would be no reason not to help. They never even tried to help from the beginning, whose to say that regular guns wouldn't be effective?

You have your own mark? :redface2: Jinno knew Shotaro was able to get Kamen Rider to the scene as long as he had the correct information. The information gathered from the police was used to help Shotaro find the Dopant and the police arrested him or her after he or she was defeated. Guns weren't effective so they weren't used on Dopants to defeat them. Memory Breaks were the only solution.

The direct compatibility of you and your memory from the beginning, and your ability to strengthen your Dopant powers by leveling up seemed to be different things, as Kirihiko, who wasn't the most suitable for the Nasca memory, was still able to level up his powers while his compatibility with the memory never improved as it is a natural compatibility.

I'm not sure about this run-on. Compatibility is something natural. Practice and the ability to connect with the Memory on a greater level is what allowed Dopants to reach higher levels. Kirihiko was not compatible and his powers were quickly obtained. He could not handle the power of the Nasca Memory so it hurt him. Utopia was looking to keep humans with Memory compatibility in his new world.

When did they ever try to shoot a dopant? Leaving their job up to a random motorcycle riding hero is still stupid when a police force is written into a show and they don't even try to do anything, ever. I said I was disappointed the police didn't do ****. Even if it makes sense why they don't help out, that doesn't change the fact that I wanted them to be involved and to be real police officers instead of being complete buffoons.

I forgot what a period was, sorry for that.

Kirihiko clearly was getting better with the memory but even so his natural compatibility was weak like you said. That should show that it is 2 separate things (dopant levels/compatibility). If people were able to raise their memory compatibility there would be no reason for Utopia to get rid of everyone if they could all raise to that level.

I'm pretty damn sure the police had tried to shoot Dopants at some point. It only is natural for them to fire at what looks like a monster to them. Besides, Fuuto wasn't a city of crime until GaiaMemory distribution began on the large scale. The police weren't as focused on stopping Dopants themselves, but rather on helping Double keep them off the streets of Fuuto. They found their own niche when Double emerged to fight the Dopants.

Compatibility is the natural ability of a person to use a Memory. If the person practices, he or she can use the power much better than before. It's like someone who naturally is good at sports and someon who isn't. The person who is good at sports is a compatible person. The other can practice and he can become better.

Utopia wanted the naturals. Anyone who could use Memories was better than those who couldn't.

It's still stupid. That would be like having a high ranking criminal and the police say 'let's leave this one to Dog the Bounty Hunter' because he seems tough. The police were a letdown to me but not so much so that it changed my opinion of the show. I just wanted them to be a prominent force in the show like they used to be, but instead they faint at the slightest touch and the 2 named side-cast officers were a joke.

Ichijo, Sakurai, Sugita, Hikawa and Ozawa >>>>> Dumb and dumber.

The use of the term 'Level 1,2 and 3' is only ever used when they spoke of the Nasca memory at the beginning of the series. Later on they start talking about compatibility and never mention these 'levels' again. Clearly Nasca had new abilities at these levels but this was never brought up with any other Dopants. That's all I wanted~

If it was just a change in terminology that the writers thought made more sense, then fine. If not, then derp.

I see. You were hoping for the continued use of "level" followed by a number. It wasn't necessary outside the Nasca parts. Nasca was a Memory that was supposed to climb levels for more abilities. Bird reached a level 2, but it wasn't needed. It was just to explain the change in powers. It was training wheels. They took off the training wheels when the viewers could understand the point they reiterated in those arcs.

Yes, that is what I wanted. As I said, I thought it was cool how when they reached certain stages of unlocking their memories full capabilities, they would gain new abilities. It still isn't something I would take points away from the show or anything, I just forget about it until it was mentioned earlier.

We can't expect them to stop superhumans who aren't affected by bullets, now, can we?
You know, funny thing is, if Double involved all the police and stuff like Kuuga, someone's gonna ask a question like "Why the hell are they so stupid when they know they'll fail yet they try?" I remember someone did ask this about Kuuga and Agito too.

Although I was extremely disappointed at the time, the whole "We don't need CAX because we don't need anger and fear to defeat our enemies" thing, while cliche was amazing.
If they get do resort to Cyclone Accel Extreme, the series will contradict itself that only the highest of comparability can win regardless of heart, love and will.
One of my small disappointments about W is that we didn't see more animal Dopants. Would've made for a great mystery. Still, only a small disappointment. :)
I actually really loved that fact. I mean, every year it's animals, plants and insects, or aliens at most, I'm so bored of it, give me more abstract monsters! Like the ones in Double! Hell yes! Sure you can place a motif on say maybe Orphenochs and make them look interesting even though the motif's always there, but you know, sometimes you need a break after using something for so long, in this case, I'm pretty much sick of any animal or plants motifs. Bugs and aliens not so much since you don't often see too much of em. It's just plants and animals usually. I'm also looking at Gekiranger and Goseiger, animal motifs D:

Though I agree with you, I just wanna add that sometimes it's not unrealistic to have an useless cop force. :P

Oh, you misunderstand! I wasn't talking about 'more animal suits'. I was talking about a mystery where the culprit turns out to be an animal using a memory to turn into something unlikely and abstract/humanoid.

Though thinking about it, if they'd done that, it would have ruined the fun of the discovery of Mick at the very end.

They found the best way to help Double by giving Shotaro information, staying out the way, and arresting the culprit soon after he was defeated.

It's not that they were useless. They just couldn't do much in terms of fighting the Dopant. It's sometimes funny to see when police arrive in four cars to ask a drunk to go with them. Sometimes, it's just plain annoying. They won't let you pass and they think they're cool. :disappoin

It was one of the funniest things ever when Double beat Mick and Terui was like "Damn it. I got beat by a cat."
