Here's one that's been bugging me for a long while:

Older Sentai series are not actually more serious or mature than Modern Sentai.

They're just childish in different ways.

Sorry gonna have to call you on this one. JAKQ is much more serious than ANY other sentai.

When I first saw Flashman I was struck by how, emotionally, the characters were just overgrown ten-year-olds.

I don't think Flashman is any worse of a show for that. I actually think the tricks it uses to make little kids identify with adult characters are quite clever.

Hibiki is the finest example of how polarized the toku fandom is, some want action, epic plotlines and focus on the rider, others want depth and character development :anime:

To be fair Hibiki in no way lacked fight scenes more then say Faiz or Kiva. I guess some people just don't like the idea of having to beat on a monster like a drum.
